摘要： The present invention provides materials and methods for forming an interface between an appliance and living tissue using a foamed elastomeric material which contacts the tissue or similar surfaces. The elastomeric material is in the form of a durable and washable material that when applied to living tissue or similar surfaces displaces and flows in to non-conforming areas creating an air and/or water tight seal that substantially returns to an original shape when removed from the contact surface. The appliance may also include structural elements designed to optimize comfort, compliance and seal achieved through minimizing the pressure variation along the contact surface of the therapy device.

摘要： A semi-closed circuit gas recycling scuba diving breathing apparatus having a breathing loop. The breathing loop has a breathing bag to be supplied by at least one gas tank and a recycling chamber. The gas tank is connected to an inlet of the breathing bag by a first duct and a second duct having respectively a demand regulator and a fixed nozzle configured to deliver respectively a first gas input and a second gas input to the breathing bag. Advantageously, the apparatus has a third duct having a gas flow regulator configured to deliver at a variable mass flow, a third gas input to the breathing bag, and a diving condition sensor, configured to measure a physiological parameter of the diver or the depth. The apparatus is advantageously configured to make the variable mass flow vary according to data of the sensor to optimise the consumption of gas.

摘要： A nose equalizing device of an underwater mask is provided. The nose equalizing device includes two pouches, each having an opening and a bottom portion corresponding to the opening. Each of the bottom portions is preformed into a first shape having a plurality of continuous folding portions and is in a first position distal from a nose wing of a user. When two fingers of the user exert forces inwardly toward the bottom portions from the openings of the two pouches, respectively, each of the bottom portions is capable of being stretched and deformed into a second shape and being in a second position proximal to the respective nose wing of the user. When the exerted forces are released, each of the bottom portions is capable of automatically or by a reverse force outwards, returning to the first position and restoring to the first shape.

摘要： A dive mask provides underwater images and includes: a transparent lens; a frame; a strap arrangement; a water-proof housing; a camera; and batteries. A first portion of the frame receives the transparent lens, and a second portion mounts to a wearer's face. The strap arrangement secures the frame to the wearer's head. The water-proof housing is secured within the frame, with a least a portion thereof being sealed against a portion of the transparent lens. The camera is positioned within the water proof enclosure, and include a shutter button that may be depressed to capture still images or video recordings. The batteries are positioned in the water-proof housing and power the camera. A water proof port permits recharging of the batteries. A waterproof pouch with a re-sealable waterproof closure is releasably secured to one strap using a lanyard, and stores the user's personal belongings while diving.

摘要： A water survival mask that seals to the user's face covering the nose and mouth and preventing the unwanted inhalation of water. The mask lets air in through slots located at the bottom of the mask that also allow water to drain out. Once through the slots, water is prevented from entering the mask by a water impermeable barrier that selectively allows for air and not water to be inhaled, which may be a float valve. If water penetrates through the water impermeable barrier it is caught by splash guards and funneled back out of the mask before it can enter the primary airway of the user. The water survival mask works exceptionally well at preventing inhalation of windblown water droplets or wave water when floating in rough waters, thereby preventing pulmonary aspiration and pulmonary edema. It also prevents immediate inhalation of water do to submersion in cold water.

摘要： A system is designed to increase diver safety in a high-risk environment containing one or more hazardous materials. The system includes chemically-hardened surface-supplied diving equipment designed to provide full environment isolation for the diver. The system also includes a dive helmet and a surface-return exhaust system, where the surface-return exhaust system includes a demand exhaust regulator that serves as a pressure-actuated valve to enable exhausting to a breathable atmosphere outside of a dive helmet instead of exhausting into the environment containing one or more hazardous materials. The system also includes retrofittable kits enabling the upgrading of contaminant-vulnerable materials of an existing dive helmet. The system also includes fluoroelastomeric materials and components to implement in a closed circuit dive system.
