Abstract:
A remote start method and apparatus for an engine coupled to a manual transmission, the method and apparatus including means for determining whether the manual transmission gears are disengaged and an alarm system coupled to the engine ignition system is armed prior to enabling ignition of the engine.
Abstract:
A seal assembly adapted to seal around an interconnection between a cable and an apparatus. The seal assembly formed from two shell halves which join together around the interconnection that are sealed by a gasket against a connector body attached to the apparatus at an apparatus end and another gasket against the cable at a cable end. The cable end gasket is adapted to be pressed between the cable and a conical cable end gasket surface by a nut which threads onto a thread formed on the two shell halves. The nut and cable end gasket are adapted to attach to the cable without passing over a connector attached to the cable end. The cable end gasket has a slit and the nut is formed from two parts which join together, around the cable.
Abstract:
A method, of forestalling actions that would defeat an access-control mechanism for a volume at least a portion of which is on a storage-device (where communication between an input/output initiator and the storage-device takes place via a stack of device objects representing the volume), may include: selectively preventing, at the stack-level, a change in characteristic information for the volume.

Abstract:
A cable manager provides horizontal cable management of adjacent patch panels or network equipment on network distribution racks. The cable manager includes a central section and a front cable routing section and is mountable on a network rack, such as an EIA rack. The central section has a longitudinal width sized to fit within the network rack, a front side, a rear side, and rack mounting holes provided on opposite longitudinal ends of the central section. The front cable routing section extends from the front side of the central section and, includes a plurality of spaced fingers having an arcuate surface that provides bend radius control. A slit provides flexibility to the fingers. Ears extend laterally from the fingers. The cable manager can also include a rear cable routing section that includes a second plurality of spaced fingers. One or more passthrough openings can be provided in the central section to allow routing of cabling from the front section to the rear section. Either or both of the front and rear sections can include a removable cover. The cover may be hingedly connected.
Abstract:
A method, of controlling access to a volume at least a portion of which is on a storage-device such that communication between an input/output (I/O) initiator and the storage-device takes place via a stack of device objects (DOs) representing the volume, may include: providing the stack, the DOs in the stack being arranged according to a first I/O state for the volume; and selectively switching to a second I/O state for the volume without completely tearing down the stack.
Abstract:
The present invention consists of a flexible pool fountain system that comprises modular segments that connect in a manner to form a conduit for the flow of water from the return inlet of a pools circulation system and in a direction to form a positional fountain feature. The connections are linked by male to female sockets that allow multi-axial positioning and the retention of shape until the system is repositioned. The flexible design permits the system of segments to be compact and have a minimal profile above and below the waterline. Within the system of conduit segments an inline sliding T-valve is used to enable the control of force at which the fountain is emitted onto the pools surface. The flexibility of the conduit segments also allows for the system to facilitate optimal positioning of a pools water return jet circulation flow. Three-way conduit segments, and the design of which they permit, allow for other embodiments to be connected that provide multiple points above the waterline that can be used to provide multiple fountain features.
Abstract:
A durable Closed Circuit Camera System for boats that follows any object towed behind the boat, such as a water-skier or wake boarder, while allowing the driver to both see and fully control the camera all as a protective exterior secures the DVR, keyboard and other items featured in the Closed Circuit Camera System from succumbing to the elements.
Abstract:
An entertainment console installed in a vehicle includes a docking bay for docking portable entertainment devices, such as portable media players (PMPs). A base of the console may be attached to the passenger compartment ceiling, with a display that can be flipped down from the base. A docked PMP can be played through the console. Video may be rendered on the console screen, while audio may be played through the console speaker(s), headphone jacks available on the console, or the speakers of the vehicle's audio system. Power for the PMP's operation is provided by the vehicle's electrical system. The console may also include additional docking bay(s), enabling simultaneous docking of multiple PMPs that may be played at the same time. A presentation from one PMP (e.g., a DVD player) can also be recorded on another PMP (e.g., a hard drive-based player). The screen may rotate around the vertical axis.
Abstract:
A line hanger for securing lines, such as transmission, pneumatic, hydraulic, electrical and other types of lines, to a support structure and a method of mounting and supporting one or more lines from a support structure. The line hanger includes an attachment support provision configured for mounting to the support structure and a pair of spaced-apart clamping arms depending outwardly from the attachment provision. The clamping arms are configured to resiliently separate for slidingly receiving an line and to resiliently relax for applying a clamping force to secure the line. Multiple line hangers may be interlinked or stacked relative to the support structure for support multiple lines.
