    摘要： A printhead assembly for a pagewidth ink jet printer includes an ink storage assembly that defines at least one ink storage chamber. An elongate mounting member is mounted on the ink storage assembly to be in fluid communication with the, or each, ink storage chamber. At least one printhead module is mounted on the mounting member and has a carrier that defines a recess and a printhead chip received in the recess. The recess is in fluid communication with the mounting member so that ink from the, or each, ink storage chamber can be fed to the printhead chip.

    摘要： The present invention provides a printhead module. The printhead module comprises a body defining a plurality of ink chambers. There is also provided a rib cage comprising a plurality of ribs and for mounting to the body. A gap is defined between each adjacent pair of ribs and a channel is defined transverse to the ribs. The printhead module further comprises a film for covering the rib cage and a printhead integrated circuit for mounting to the film in a location coincident with the channel. In use, ink passes from the ink chambers, along the gaps and into the channel before being fed to the printhead integrated circuit.

    摘要： A modular printhead assembly is provided for an inkjet printer. The modular printhead assembly includes an elongate chassis defining a plurality of slots. An elongate ink reservoir is fast with the chassis. The ink reservoir defines: a plurality of longitudinally extending ink channels for storing respective types of ink, a plurality of spaced apart sets of ink outlets with the ink outlets of each set being in fluid communication with respective ink channels, and a plurality of receiving formations located along the ink reservoir which can receive a plurality of printhead modules. The plurality of printhead modules is configured to releasably engage with respective sets of ink outlets and print ink supplied from the ink reservoir. Each printhead module includes a plurality of resilient fastening legs configured to be received within the receiving formations at particular locations during engagement so that access to the legs is thereafter enabled through the slots to facilitate disengagement of the printhead modules from the ink reservoir.

    摘要： A print engine includes a print roll cartridge. The print roll cartridge includes a former, in turn, defining ink reservoirs for storing respective types of ink and bears a wound length of print media upon which the stored ink can be printed. The print roll cartridge defines a print media exit slot and includes a feed arrangement arranged to feed the print media through the exit slot. A printhead assembly includes an ink feed arrangement, in turn, defining ink feed galleries which can be connected in fluid communication with respective ink reservoirs. An elongate printhead is arranged relative to the ink feed arrangement to print ink fed from the ink feed galleries onto the print media fed through the exit slot. A motor assembly is coupled to the former and the feed arrangement to feed the print media through the exit slot. A cutter assembly is arranged to cut printed print media from the remaining print media wound upon the former.
