摘要: A process for preparing low molecular weight polytetrafluoroethylene having a melting point of 250.degree. C. to 325.degree. C. comprising polymerizing tetrafluoroethylene in at least one polymerization solvent selected from the group consisting of hydrochlorofluorocarbons, hydrofluorocarbons and perfluorocarbons which have boiling points in the range between -10.degree. C. and 70.degree. C. under constant pressure by the supplement of tetrafluoroethylene. According to this process, the low molecular weight polytetrafluoroethylene which is useful as an additive to various materials is produced in the solvent which has a low ozone destruction factor or does not destroy the ozone, under economically advantageous low pressure which can be controlled safely.

摘要: There is provided a fluorine-containing polymer latex providing a fluorine-containing polymer material being excellent in mechanical properties of a molded article. The preparation process comprises emulsion-polymerizing a fluorine-containing olefin solely or a fluorine-containing olefin and other monomer in an aqueous medium in the presence of at least one of fluorine-containing surfactants represented by the formula (I): F(CF2mO—(CF(X)CF2—OnCF(X)COOM wherein X is fluorine atom or a linear or branched lower perfluoroalkyl group; —COOM is a carboxylic acid salt; m is an integer of from 3 to 10; n is 0, 1 or 2. There are also provided a molding material and dispersion comprising a tetrafluoroethylene/hexafluoropropylene copolymer, polytetrafluoroethylene or fluoro elastomer which are obtained by the above-mentioned preparation process.

摘要: A polymer composition of matter is disclosed which includes a thermoplastic polymer and a fluorine-containing polymer. The thermoplastic polymer is an amorphous non-fluorinated thermoplastic polymer or a crystalline non-fluorinated thermoplastic polymer with a melting point of 180° C. or higher. The fluorine-containing polymer has a zero shear viscosity at 340° C. of 0.2 Pa.s or greater and less than 5000 Pa.s, and is present to the extent of 0.005-2 mass % of the total of the thermoplastic polymer and the fluorine-containing polymer.

摘要: A process for preparing a fluorine-containing polymer through emulsion polymerization method which enhances productivity while maintaining excellent physical properties of the fluorine-containing polymer and comprises (a) a first polymerization step for emulsion-polymerizing a fluorine-containing monomer or a mixture of a fluorine-containing monomer and a non-fluorine-containing monomer in an aqueous medium in the presence of a radical polymerization initiator and an emulsifying agent, (b) a dilution step for diluting the obtained aqueous emulsion of polymer particles with water to reduce the number of emulsified polymer particles per unit amount of aqueous medium in the emulsion and a concentration of emulsifying agent, and (c) a second polymerization step for emulsion-polymerizing a fluorine-containing monomer and/or a non-fluorine-containing monomer in the obtained diluted emulsified solution.

摘要: A polymerization process, in which when at least one of fluorine-containing olefin monomers in gaseous phase or supercritical phase or a monomer mixture of the fluorine-containing olefin monomer and other monomer copolymerizable therewith is subjected to batch polymerization in an aqueous medium while being diffused to the aqueous medium, a diffusing amount of the monomer or monomer mixture to the aqueous medium is not less than 80% of the theoretical consumption of the monomer or monomer mixture when polymerized at the theoretical polymerization rate. According to the present invention, a polymerization rate is determined by the polymerization reaction but not by the diffusion of monomer gas, and thus higher polymerization rate can be achieved.
