Abstract: A fluorinated ether compound is represented by formula: [X23-n2R23n2Si—R22—]3C-R21—[N(R2)C(O)]p2—(Rf2O)m2-Q2-[C(O)N(R2)]p2—R21—C[—R22—SiR23-n2X23-n2]3. Rf2 is a fluoroalkylene group having no branched structure, Q2 is a fluoroalkylene group having no branched structure, R2 is a hydrogen atom or an alkyl group, R21 is a single bond, an alkylene group, an alkylene group comprising an etheric oxygen atom at its terminal on the side bonded to [X23-n2R23n2Si—R22—]3C, an alkylene group with at least two carbon atoms comprising an etheric oxygen atom between its carbon-carbon atoms, or an alkylene group with at least two carbon atoms comprising an etheric oxygen atom between its carbon-carbon atoms and at its terminal on the side bonded to [X23-n2R23n2Si—R22—]3C, R22 is an alkylene group, or the like, R23 is a hydrogen atom or a monovalent hydrocarbon group, and X2 is a hydrolyzable group.

Abstract: A tetrafluoroethylene (TFE) copolymer film having a first endotherm between about 50° C. and about 300° C., a second endotherm between about 320° C. and about 350° C., and a third endotherm between about 350° C. and about 400° C. is provided. In exemplary embodiments, the third endotherm is approximately 380° C. In some embodiments, the second endotherm is between about 320° C. and about 330° C. or between about 330° C. and about 350° C. TFE copolymer films have a methane permeability less than about 20 μg*micron/cm2/min. In addition, the dense articles have a void volume of less than about 20%. Methods for dense articles from core shell tetrafluoroethylene copolymers are also provided. The dense articles exhibit improved physical and mechanical properties such as adhesion and barrier properties.

Abstract: Novel compositions for removing impurities such as, protein aggregates, from a sample containing a protein of interest, e.g., an antibody. Such compositions can be used prior to the virus filtration step during protein purification, to remove aggregates and protect the virus filter from fouling, therefore improving virus filter capacity. A porous solid support including a co-polymer having at least two monomers, wherein at least one of the monomers comprises acrylamide and at least a second monomer comprises a hydrophobic binding group, where the solid support selectively binds protein aggregates, thereby to separate the monomeric protein of interest from the protein aggregates. The method can be performed under neutral to high pH and high conductivity conditions.

Abstract: Described herein is a composition comprising (i) a hydrofluorothermoplastic polymer, wherein the hydrofluorothermoplastic polymer is derived from: (a) 50-85 mol % tetrafluoroethene; (b) 2-15 mol % hexafluoropropene; (c) 10-35 mol % vinylidene fluoride; and (d) 0.1 to 5 mol % of a bromine-containing monomer; and (ii) a perhalogenated thermoplastic polymer. Such compositions can be used in multilayer constructions in, for example, fuel hose applications.
