摘要： The present invention is directed to an optical pick-up apparatus used for recording/reproduction of an optical disk, which comprises an optical pick-up (17) caused to undergo feed operation in the radial direction of optical disk (2), and for performing write or read operation of information signals with respect to the rotating optical disk, and a flexible printed wiring board (45) having one end portion (45a) connected to the optical pick-up, and the other end portion (45d) provided in a manner extended in the feed direction of the optical pick-up. The flexible printed wiring board includes a folded portion (45g) folded back toward the bottom surface portion side of the optical pick-up, and a bending displacement portion (45h) for allowing folded position of the folded portion to undergo displacement in a manner following the feed operation of the optical pick-up, wherein a slit (47) for escaping a projected portion (17b) projected from the bottom surface portion of the optical pick-up is provided at the folded portion.

摘要： A disc drive apparatus comprises a housing; a disc-holding unit that holds an optical disc in the housing; a disc-driving mechanism that rotates the optical disc held by the disc-holding unit; an optical pickup that writes signals in, and reads signals from, the optical disc being rotated by the disc-driving mechanism; and a pickup-moving mechanism that moves the optical pickup in a radial direction of the optical disc. The housing has an air-inlet port which is located above the optical disc held by the disc-holding unit and through which air is drawn from outside by virtue of an airflow that develops as the optical disc is rotated, and air-outlet ports through which air is discharged from the housing.

The present invention provides an adaptor member for allowing an optical pickup currently mounted in a first disc drive unit having respective main shaft and sub shaft arranged oppositely relative to and in parallel with each other and separated from each other by a distance to be mounted in a second disc drive unit having respective main shaft and sub shaft arranged oppositely relative to and in parallel with each other and separated from each other by a distance, the distance separating the main shaft and the sub shaft of the first disc drive unit being smaller than the distance separating the main shaft and the sub shaft of the second disc drive unit, the adaptor member being adapted to be fitted to a second supporting section of the optical pickup mounted in the first disc drive unit, the second supporting section being formed with a guide groove for pinching the sub shaft and arranged opposite to a first supporting section formed with a guide hole for allowing the main shaft to run through it, the adaptor member having a guide groove for pinching the sub shaft of the second disc drive unit.

The disc drive unit includes a disc rotary drive mechanism, an optical pickup, a pickup feed mechanism, a base, a flexible printed circuit board, and a top cover. The disc drive unit is structurally so adapted as to hold down the lateral edge section of the flexible printed circuit board rising to a greater extent than the other lateral edge section as viewed in the longitudinal direction thereof at least at the folded position thereof while the flexible printed circuit board being displacing the folded position, following the movement of the optical pickup being fed.
