    摘要: A method and an apparatus are provided for merging two meshes whose density differs from each other so as to avoid unnatural appearance. A first mesh and a second mesh that differ from each other in density are merged by the following procedure. Edge length of a portion that becomes a boundary between the first and second meshes is determined, size of a first group of polygons including the edge of the portion is determined based on the determined length and size of a second group of polygons is adjusted so that an adjustment ratio is smaller as a distance between a position of each of the second group of polygons and the portion is greater, the first and second group of polygons being part of polygons structuring the first and second meshes, and the first and second meshes in each of which the polygons are adjusted are merged.

    摘要: An object of the present invention is to automatically determine the orientation of a newly generated surface, etc. when performing such processing as filling a dropout portion of three dimensional shape data, and to generate more natural three dimensional shape data. The present invention provides a method for generating a grid-patterned surface in three dimensional shape data, and comprises a first step (#11) for detecting the orientation of a polygon in the three dimensional shape data that is located at a periphery of a surface to be fitted, a second step (#12) for determining the orientation of the surface so that a grid orientation of the surface matches the orientation of the detected polygon, and a third step (#13) for fitting the surface onto the three dimensional shape data while maintaining the thus determined orientation.

    摘要: An object of the present invention is to realize a technique capable of generating a texture image from all of polygons constructing a three-dimensional shape model without a dropout and a texture image on which an editing or correcting operation can be easily performed. When a computer reads original three-dimensional model data 51, an original three-dimensional model is set in a virtual model space, and a cylindrical plane is set as a projection plane around the original three-dimensional model. A virtual projection computing unit 14 functions to virtually project a texture image corresponding to a polygon which can be projected onto the projection plane, thereby generating a projected texture image. On the other hand, by individually extracting a unit texture image corresponding to a polygon which cannot be projected onto the projection plane, thereby generating an unprojected texture image.

    摘要: When a scanning start position set signal is input in an area image sensor, the content is transferred to a vertical scanning circuit, and the scan start position is set. Image of a desired row is read by horizontal scanning. Then, one shift signal for vertical scanning is input, the position of scanning is shifted by one row, and horizontal scanning is performed. Thus image of the next row is read. By repeating this operation, a desired strip-shaped image is read. The shape of the object is determined and when a portion is determined to have complicated shape, the image data is input by means of a lens having long focal length, and image data of other portions are input by means of a lens having short focal length. By putting together a plurality of input image data, image data as a whole is generated.

    摘要: Based on the maximum value of distances between vertexes of polygons in a plurality of polygon meshes, the size of voxel is determined. Next, respective potential values for a plurality of polygon meshes are obtained on the basis of signed respective distances of voxels and a sum of the potential values is obtained as an added potential value. A polygon mesh made of an equivalent: face of the added potential value is defined as a surface mesh. Comparison between the surface mesh and the a plurality of original polygon meshes is performed, to determine respective vertexes (corresponding-vertexes) of a plurality of original meshes corresponding to each vertex of the surface mesh. The polygons of the surface mesh is divided/synthesized to obtain intermediate surface data. Referring to the original polygon meshes, respective vertexes of the intermediate surface data are moved. Composed polygon mesh data can be obtained with stability even if the original three-dimensional data have some errors, within a time of practical level, without unnecessarily high redundancy, while maintaining the accuracy and resolution of the three-dimensional multi-viewpoints data.
