Since the opening portion is molded of a deformable material, a spherical sealing member made of a metallic material while having a diameter slightly larger than an inner diameter of the opening portion can be fitted into the opening portion.

Each chamber communicates with another chamber through a port smaller than the chamber. Preferably, the plurality of chambers are disposed in a direction intersecting a direction from the interior to the exterior of the ink container and the opening in the chambers are positioned such that they are shifted from each other. This arrangement prevents ink leakage through the atmosphere communicating section and eliminates a general feeling of anxiety on the part of users deriving from the possibility of having their hands and clothes soiled with spilt ink. It also inhibits ink evaporation.
