The transmissive regions are each configured to make entirely visible any one of the pixels therethrough when a viewer views the panel section not from a front but from a first or second direction via the barrier section, the pixels are each configured by a plurality of sub-pixels varying in type, and the sub-pixels in each of the pixels are arranged not in stripes but differently.

摘要： A liquid crystal display device of a transverse electric field type has characteristics in the following respects. A liquid crystal layer is sandwiched between two substrates. Two polarizing plates are provided on a side of the two substrates opposite to the liquid crystal layer such that the light transmission axes thereof are orthogonal to each other. A first electrode and a second electrode are formed on one of the two substrates. The liquid crystal is driven by an electric field generated between the first electrode and the second electrode. The polarizing plate, formed on one of the two substrates, is formed of a protective film, a polarizer, and two negative biaxial films. The two negative biaxial films include first and second negative biaxial films. The first negative biaxial film and the second negative biaxial film are entirely overlapped, and are disposed on a side of one or the other substrate.

摘要： A manufacturing process of an electro-optical apparatus substrate is provided wherein a substrate is coated with a photosensitive resin. A first exposure process is executed with a first reticle to form an uneven portion on the substrate. Subsequently, a second exposure process is executed with a second reticle to remove all the photosensitive resin on portions other than the uneven portion. After the second exposure process, the substrate is developed so as to form an underlying film having an uneven portion.
