    摘要: A display apparatus includes a matrix of light emitting elements, a plurality of drive circuits provided for driving the light emitting elements, a plurality of scanning lines to which a scanning signal is applied to select the drive circuits on a row basis, a plurality of control lines to which a light-emission control signal is applied to determine an emission period of the light emitting elements, and a plurality of data lines to which image signals are applied to define brightness of the light emitting elements on a column basis. The scanning signal is sequentially applied to the scanning lines in a field so that the image signals of the data lines are programmed in the drive circuits, and the light-emission control signal is sequentially applied to the control lines to make the light emitting elements emit light with brightness corresponding to the image signal programmed to the drive circuit. An impulse operation, constituted by a high level and a low level of the light-emission control signal, corresponds to on and off of the light emission element, respectively, and is repeated at least twice in different temporal patterns in a period from programming of the image signal necessary for display of one image to inputting of the next image signal.

    摘要: A display apparatus includes data lines, scanning lines arranged to cross the data lines, and pixel circuits aligning along the data lines and the scanning lines, such that one of the pixel circuits corresponds to each intersection between the data lines and the scanning lines. In addition, image signal lines transmit image signals, and switches connect the data lines to the image signal lines so that each of the data lines is connected to one of the image signal lines. The data lines are arranged such that adjacent data lines form a pair of data lines, and adjacent pairs of data lines are spaced apart from each other by two columns of pixel-circuits. Respective data lines of the pair of data lines are connected by the switches to two different image signal lines, and the switches connecting the pair of data lines to corresponding image signal lines are activated simultaneously.

    摘要: A method for driving a display apparatus uses self luminous elements that allows for favorable display by suppressing a luminance variation accompanying change of a total current amount at a time of on-off drive. In a display apparatus that performs periodic on-off drive, pixels are divided into at least two groups having different light emitting timings with the timing for writing data to the pixels as a reference. Light emission is controlled so that when one group does not emit light, the other group emits light. Alternatively, light emission is controlled so that when one group emits light, the other group does not emit light. In this manner, either the period in which the two groups do not flow current at the same time or the period in which the two groups flow current at the same time hardly exists in one field period.

    摘要: A display apparatus includes a plurality of pixels arranged in two-dimensions, each pixel including a pixel circuit and a light emitting element for emitting light at a luminance corresponding to a data signal, a data line, connected to each pixel circuit, for writing the data signal, and a light emitting period control signal line for supplying a light emitting period control signal. Each pixel circuit includes a light emitting element drive unit for supplying a current or voltage corresponding to the data signal to the light emitting element, and a light emitting period control unit for controlling a light emitting period of the light emitting element by the light emitting period control signal. The light emitting period control signals have two or more light emitting period control signals, and the respective pixels are divided into two or more groups by grouping the respective pixels disposed in a same row at least into a same group. Pixels in a same row are scanned in every other row and neighboring rows are sequentially scanned for writing the data signal, and the light emitting elements have an equal light emission duty and are controlled by the light emitting period control signal different on a group basis and controlled so that a time between an endpoint of a writing period within one field period and a start point of a light emitting period within the one field period is different for different groups.
