    摘要: Improved techniques for controlled take over of services for clustered computing systems are disclosed. The improved techniques can be implemented to allow one sub-cluster of the clustered computing system to safely take over services of one or more other sub-clusters in the clustered computing system. Accordingly, if the clustered computing system is fragmented into two or more disjointed sub-clusters, one sub-cluster can safely take over services of the one or more other sub-clusters after the one or more other sub-clusters have been shutdown. As a result, the clustered computing system can continue to safely provide services even when the clustered computing system has been fragmented into two or more disjointed sub-clusters due to an operational failure.

    摘要: Mobile node registration with the home network of the mobile node is delayed when the mobile node moves to a foreign network. The mobile node has a home network in which the mobile node has a home address. In response to the mobile node moving to a foreign network (such as by being turned on in the foreign network), the mobile node receives a care-of address. Where the mobile node has no ongoing communication sessions, the mobile node waits to register its care-of address with its home agent in the home network until the mobile node initiates a communication session within the foreign network, which may not ever occur. The mobile node by registering the care-of address with the home agent informs the home agent where to forward data sent to the mobile node's home address.

    摘要: A vacuum device and method for extraction of a substance from a fluid source, the vacuum device including an upper member that may be selectively, and operably, connected to a lower member. The upper member defines a bottom opening, and has a vacuum pump in fluid communication with the bottom opening. The vacuum pump is selectively coupled to an energy source. The lower member defines an inner cavity, a first opening, and a second opening, the inner cavity in communication with the first opening and the second opening. An elastic membrane defining an interior cavity is disposed in the inner cavity and is coupied to the first opening of the lower member. In use, the second opening of the lower member in placed in selective fluid communication with the fluid source, and the lower member is selectively coupled to the upper member such that the vacuum pump is electrically coupled to the energy source and the bottom opening of the upper member is in sealed contact with the first opening of the lower member so that the vacuum pump is in fluid communication with the interior cavity defined by the elastic membrane.
