摘要: There is provided a steering wheel that can reduce the load applied to an elastic body included in a dynamic damper to lengthen the life of the dynamic damper, and that allows the frequency of the dynamic damper to be adjusted easily. An insulator 14 includes a first flange portion 14a provided between a stopper 13 and an elastic body 15, and a second flange portion 14b provided between a coil spring 17 and the elastic body 15. The elastic body 15 includes a first diameter-increased portion 15a increased in diameter to be contactable with the first flange portion 14a, and a second diameter-increased portion 15b increased in diameter to be contactable with the second flange portion 14b. A contact surface of the first flange portion 14a with the first diameter-increased portion 15a has a plurality of linear projections 14c arranged in a substantially radial fashion.

An airbag cover 4 includes a side wall portion 41 standing on an inner side, a recess 42 formed in an end face at almost the center of the side wall portion 41, and retaining holes 43 and 43 formed in the side wall portion 41 on both sides of the recess 42. A retainer 3 includes a first hook 31 that is fittable in the recess 42 and contactable with a bottom face 42a of the recess 42, and second hooks 32 that are contactable with inner faces 43a of the retaining holes 43. The retainer 3 is centered in a width direction by fitting the first hook 31 in the recess 42, and the side wall portion 41 is clamped in a standing direction by the first hook 31 and the second hooks 32 by contacting the first hook 31 with the recess 42 and contacting the second hooks 32 with the retaining holes 43.

The upper part has an upwardly protruding curved edge without a linear portion, and two laterally protruding upper curved edges. The middle part has two laterally inwardly curved middle side edges extending smoothly from the laterally protruding upper curved edges. The lower part haw two laterally inwardly and downwardly curved lower side edges, and a downwardly protruding curved edge without a linear portion. The lower part has a lateral width greater than that of the upper and middle parts to thereby form laterally projecting portions for receiving occupant's arms. The downwardly extending curved edge at the lower part has a curvature greater than that of the upwardly extending curved edge at the upper part.

The hook hole (25) is a long hole elongated in the vertical direction, and in the middle of the long hole is provided a partition-like section (26) for partitioning the inside of the hook hole (25) into the upper half and the lower half. The hook (18) is engaged with that portion of the hook hole (25) which is lower than the partition-like section (26). As the lid (20) recedes, the hook (18) moves upward in the hook hole (25) while cutting the partition-like section (26).
