摘要: One embodiment relates to a control system. The control system includes a controller configured to drive a load based on a set-point of the load. The controller is also configured to measure a load characteristic of the load and compute an average load characteristic. The controller is further configured to determine a corrected set-point based on the computed average and to drive the load in response to the corrected set-point. Other systems and methods are also disclosed.

摘要: A first and second node configured to couple to a load. A current source is adapted to drive a first current to the load through at least one of the first and second nodes. A first switch is coupled to the at least one of the first and second nodes. The first switch is adapted to interrupt the first current. A sense circuit is configured to monitor whether a second current is provided by the load after the first current is interrupted. The sense circuit provides an output that corresponds to a value of the second current and that indicates a type of the load.

摘要: A method and a system of controlling a restraint device in a vehicle during a crash. The method includes sensing a lateral condition, classifying the crash, sensing a roll value, comparing the roll value with a plausibility region, and activating the restraint device based on the classified crash and when the roll value falls within the plausibility region.

摘要: Friction-stir weldments and systems and methods for producing the same are disclosed. In one embodiment, a metal product includes a first metal plate having a first center-neutral axis, a second metal plate comprising a second center-neutral axis, and a friction-stir corner weld that connects the first metal plate to the second metal plate, where the first center-neutral axis of the first metal plate is transverse to the second center-neutral axis of the second metal plate. In another embodiment, a system for producing friction-stir weldments includes a backup anvil having a first supporting face and a second supporting face, where the first supporting face is adapted to receive and support the first metal plate, and where the second supporting face is adapted to receive and support a second metal plate, wherein the center-neutral axis of the first metal plate is transverse to the center-neutral axis of the second metal plate.

摘要: A technique is taught for making a lap penetration weldment including a weld bead joining a first component to a second component, the first component overlying the second component, the weld bead penetrating through the first component and into the second component, the first component including a short overlapping portion between a centerline of the weld bead and an edge of the first component. Prior to forming the weld bead, the method includes applying to the short overlapping portion of the first component at least one normal force directed toward the second component, and applying to the short overlapping portion at least one tangential force directed toward the weld bead, the tangential force(s) preventing formation of cracks along a boundary of the weld bead, a fusion zone of the weld bead, or a heat affected zone of the weldment.
