摘要: A pulse welding period includes a first peak period for supplying a first peak current to a welding wire, a first base period for supplying a base current smaller than the first peak current to the welding wire, a second peak period for supplying a second peak current to the welding wire after alternately repeating the first peak period and the first base period (n−1) times (n is an integer equal to or larger than 2), and a second base period for supplying the base current to the welding wire. The second peak current is larger than the first peak current, and droplets are transferred from the welding wire during the second peak period or the second base period.

摘要: A method for making an article is disclosed. According to the method, a digital model of the article is generated. The digital model is inputted into an additive manufacturing apparatus comprising an energy source. The additive manufacturing apparatus applies energy from the energy source to successively applied incremental quantities of a powder to fuse the powder to form the article corresponding to the digital model. The powder particles individually include a composite core including a first phase of a first metal and a second phase of a ceramic. A first shell including a second metal is disposed over the core.

In one exemplary embodiment, the method comprises providing a base substrate and emitting energy from an energy source onto a surface of the base substrate at a predetermined wavelength to achieve one or more material properties. The one or more material properties including a surface elemental ratio of Aluminum to Magnesium between approximately 3 to 17, an elemental ratio of oxygen to carbon between 3 to 11, and a contact angle of less than 30 degrees such that upon application of an adhesive material an increased adhesive bond of predetermined strength is attained.

The method includes: a weld setting step of performing crash analysis by numerical simulation on an analytical model of the structural member, and setting the position of the weld such that a fracture index of a first region is equal to or more than a specified value and the fracture indices of all remaining regions other than the first region are less than the specified value; and a removal region setting step of setting, after the weld setting step, a region including a portion corresponding to the first region in the joined end portion as a removal region where the exposed portion is formed.

Si, according to a weight fraction from 4% to 20%;
Fe, according to a weight fraction from 2% to 15%.
The invention also relates to a part obtained by this method. The alloy used in the additive manufacturing method according to the invention, makes it possible to obtain parts with remarkable mechanical performance, while still obtained a method of which the productivity is advantageous.-

摘要: A method of creating a clad metal part is provided. The method includes explosion bonding a plate comprised of a base layer and an interlayer. The explosion bonded plate is then cut into bars which are roll bonded with a clad layer. Ultimately a part is fabricated from the roll bonded bar. The solution enables parts to have material combinations and resulting physical properties more optimal for an application than a single bonding process.
