Abstract:
A conveying device can selectively execute discharge processes of a plurality of discharge procedures each having a different mode of discharge to a discharge tray. An image reading portion reads images on document sheets conveyed along a conveyance path and outputs data about read images. An image reading control method includes detecting a target image that satisfies a predetermined sorting condition associated with any one of the plurality of discharge procedures from the read images. The image reading control method further includes, in a case where the target image is detected, executing a discharge control that causes the conveying device to execute the discharge process of the discharge procedure corresponding to the target image.
Abstract:
An image forming apparatus includes an identification-mark making unit. The identification-mark making unit makes a page identification mark for identifying a page, on a predetermined position of a paper sheet during printing. The identification-mark making unit, based on the page identification mark made in a previous printing, includes a correction/addition mark that indicates an existence of a correction page or an additional page since the previous printing in a part of the page identification mark when a new print output is performed.

Abstract:
An image forming apparatus has a sheet reading portion, an assimilation surveying portion, a color changing portion, and a printing portion. The sheet reading portion reads image data from a transparent sheet tinted with a predetermined color owned by a user. The assimilation surveying portion looks for, out of printable colors, a particular color that assimilates to the color of the read image data. The color changing portion changes, out of the data of a predetermined document accepted from the user, the color of the data of a concealable character, which is a character concealed when overlaid with the transparent sheet, to the found particular color. The printing portion prints, out of the data of the document, the data of the concealable character in the particular color.
Abstract:
An image processing apparatus is configured for compressing image data by combining spatial frequency conversion, quantization, and entropy coding. The apparatus includes a block division section, a spatial frequency conversion section, a quantization section, an encoding section, and a selection section. The encoding section generates code data by performing the entropy coding for each of a plurality of change candidate values. The values include a value of quantized data in a pixel block after performing the spatial frequency conversion and peripheral values within a predetermined range. The selection section selects a change value of the quantized data from the plurality of change candidate values based on a size of the code data of each of the plurality of change candidate values, and sets the code data corresponding to the selected change value as the code data.
Abstract:
An image scanning unit optically scans a document image of a document. A transportation device performs transportation of the document set at a front insertion-ejection port as an insertion port and ejection port of the document. A controller performs in a first scanning mode image scanning of a top sheet of the document if the document has been bound with a staple. In the first scanning mode, the controller performs image scanning of a partial scanning area in the top sheet while transporting the document using the transportation device, and reverses a transportation direction of the document at a time point that the image scanning of the partial scanning area is finished. The partial scanning area is from a front end to a predetermined position of the top sheet, and the predetermined position is a position nearer to the front end than a binding position of the staple.
Abstract:
A document checking apparatus includes an image scanning device, a printing device, an output tray, and a controller. The image scanning device is configured to scan a document image sheet by sheet from a document including plural sheets. The output tray is as an output destination of both the document outputted from the image scanning device and a print sheet outputted from the printing device. The controller is configured to perform checking of the document image, and if an error is detected in the checking of the document image, control the printing device and thereby insert the print sheet as an interleaving sheet immediately before or immediately after a sheet where the error is detected.
