Abstract: A gelled composition comprising a short-chain fatty acid salt. The composition, in particular a cosmetic composition, in particular for caring for keratin materials, in particular the skin, including between 0.5% and 4% by weight of short-chain fatty acid salt and at least 90% by weight of an aqueous phase, with respect to the total weight of the composition, gelled by a hydrophilic gelling agent chosen from (i) at least one polymer chosen from polyacrylamides and 2-acrylamido-2-methylpropanesulfonic acid polymers and copolymers. (ii) at least one polysaccharide produced by microorganisms or isolated from algae, (iii) at least cellulose or one of its derivatives, (iv) at least one carboxyvinyl polymer or (v) mixtures thereof. A cosmetic process for caring for keratin materials, in particular the skin, including at least one stage of application to said keratin materials of the composition.
