    Abstract: A sulfur-carbon composite, a preparation method thereof, a positive electrode, and a lithium secondary battery including the same are disclosed. The sulfur-carbon composite has a fluorine-based surfactant and sulfur sequentially forming a double coating layer on the surface of a porous carbon material and/or on an inner surface of pores of the porous carbon material, and thus when the sulfur-carbon composite is applied to a positive electrode of a lithium secondary battery, for example, a lithium-sulfur secondary battery, the fluorine-based surfactant can be slowly dissolved to prevent deterioration of lithium contained in the negative electrode, and the surface energy of the electrolyte solution can be lowered to improve the wettability of the positive electrode, thereby improving the lifetime of the battery.

    Abstract: A method for preparing a sulfur-carbon composite including: (a) stirring a porous carbon material in a solvent mixture including a carbonate-based compound and a volatile solvent and then drying; and (b) mixing the dried porous carbon material with sulfur and then depositing the sulfur in and on the porous carbon material by a heat melting method. A method for preparing a sulfur-carbon composite including: (a) mixing and stirring a porous carbon material and sulfur in a solvent mixture including a carbonate-based compound and a volatile solvent and then drying; and (b) depositing the sulfur in and on the porous carbon material by a heat melting method. In the sulfur-carbon composite, sulfur present in and on the porous carbon material, a proportion of β-monoclinic sulfur phase to sulfur contained in the sulfur-carbon composite is 90% or more based on a total molar ratio of sulfur.

    Abstract: A lithium-sulfur battery comprising a separator in which an adsorption layer including a radical compound having a nitroxyl radical site is formed, and in particular, to a lithium-sulfur battery suppressing elution of lithium polysulfide by using an adsorption layer including a radical compound having a nitroxyl radical site and optionally a conductive material on at least one surface of a separator. In the lithium-sulfur battery, elution and diffusion may be prevented by a radical compound having a nitroxyl radical site, a stable radical compound, adsorbing lithium polysulfide eluted from positive electrode, and in addition thereto, electrical conductivity is further provided to provide a reaction site of a positive electrode active material, and as a result, battery capacity and lifetime properties are enhanced.
