    Abstract: An organic light emitting diode display and a method for driving the same are disclosed. The organic light emitting diode display includes a display panel including a plurality of pixels, a display panel driver configured to drive signal lines of the display panel, and a timing controller configured to divide one frame into a plurality of subframes, divide data of an input image at each bit, map the data of the input image to the plurality of subframes, control an operation of the display panel driver, and adjust data addressing speeds of the plurality of subframes for adjusting the emission times of the upper and lower display lines of the display panel differently.

    Abstract: A special mode processor drives a display panel to display an image. When the display panel is configured to operate in a special operation mode, the special operation mode processor determines a pixel block size for blocking the plurality of pixels into a plurality of pixel blocks and determines a first set of on-pixels and a first set of off-pixels. The first set of on-pixels is initially turned on and the first set of off-pixels is initially turned off. A drive history representative value is generated for the first group of pixels that represents a drive time and drive characteristic for the first group of pixels. The drive history representative value is compared with a threshold value. Responsive to the drive history representative value exceeding the threshold value, a second set of on-pixels and a second set of off-pixels are turned on and off respectively.

    Abstract: Disclosed is an organic light emitting diode (OLED) display that includes a display panel including a plurality of gate lines and a plurality of data lines crossing each other to define a plurality of pixels, each pixel including a driving transistor, a switching transistor, an OLED and a storage capacitor; a timing controller that receives pixel data of an input image and timing signals and time-divides a period of one frame into at least a driving sub-frame and a compensation sub-frame based on one or more of the timing signals; and a display panel driver that converts the pixel data into data voltages and supplies the data voltages to the plurality of data lines during the driving sub-frame, and that adjusts compensation gray levels of the plurality of pixels or compensation duties of the plurality of pixels based on a luminance map, which contains information on a luminance deviation for each pixel with respect to a same gray level, during the compensation sub-frame.

    Abstract: An organic light-emitting display device including a display panel, a power supply, a selective driver and a gamma change driver is disclosed. The display panel includes sub-pixels. The power supply is configured to output a drive voltage for driving the sub-pixels. The selective driver is configured to generate a control signal to enable selective drive between first and second driving schemes for a drive transistor in each sub-pixel, wherein the first and second schemes employ saturation and linear regions of the drive voltage curve respectively. The gamma change driver is configured to change a gamma based on the driving scheme selected by the selective driver.
