Abstract: An electroluminescent display device includes a display panel having a display area and a non-display area. A planarization layer is over the non-display area. A bank is on the planarization layer. An organic layer and a cathode are on the bank. A trench pattern extends through the cathode and the organic layer. An adhesive layer and an encapsulation substrate are disposed over the cathode. The adhesive layer covers the trench pattern. The adhesive layer is effective to slow a rate of moisture penetration to a side surface of the non-display area, allowing for improvements in reliability and a reduction in bezel width.

Abstract: A light emitting display apparatus includes a substrate, a passivation layer disposed over the substrate, a light emitting device layer including a light emitting layer disposed over the passivation layer, a non-emission pattern portion including a light emitting material pattern disposed over the passivation layer at a periphery portion of the substrate and electrically isolated from the light emitting layer, and an encapsulation layer disposed over the light emitting device layer and the non-emission pattern portion. The encapsulation layer may wholly surround the non-emission pattern portion and seals an interface between the non-emission pattern portion and the passivation layer.

Abstract: An organic light emitting display device includes a substrate which is divided into an active area and a non-active area. An adhesive film and an encapsulation substrate are disposed above the substrate, and a dam is disposed in the non-active area between the substrate and the encapsulation substrate. The dam includes a polymer light emitting material that is transparent when irradiated with visible light but emits light when irradiated with ultraviolet light. Therefore, external appearance of the dam can be inspected and performance of the dam can be evaluated using ultraviolet rays.
