    Abstract: A washstand may include a washing device, a cabinet and a dryer. The washing device may include a sink, a water-supply assembly that supplies water to the sink, and a water-discharge assembly that drains water from the sink. The cabinet may be provided below the sink and having an inner space. The dryer may be provided in the cabinet and may include a first outlet in communication with the inner space of the cabinet and a second outlet under the cabinet in communication with an outside of the cabinet. The dryer may be configured to selectively generate airflow through the first outlet to the inner space or through the second outlet to the outside of the cabinet.

    Abstract: A method of controlling a dryer includes rotating a drum within the dryer in a first direction, detecting at least one of temperature or relative humidity of air discharged from the drum while the drum is rotating in the first direction, and sensing occurrence of entanglement inside the drum by comparing a variation rate of at least one of the detected temperature or the detected relative humidity with a corresponding reference value. The method also includes, based on sensing that the entanglement has occurred, reversing a rotation direction of the drum by rotating the drum in a second direction that is opposite the first direction, and further, based on reversing the rotation direction of the drum upon sensing that the entanglement has occurred, maintaining the second direction of rotation of the drum for a preset time.

    Abstract: A condensing type clothes dryer having a heat pump cycle is provided that may include a drum in which an object to be dried may be accommodated; a circulation duct that forms a circulation passage such that air may circulate via the drum; and a heat pump cycle. The heat pump cycle may include a plurality of evaporators provided adjacent to each other in the circulation duct; a condenser provided at a downstream side of the plurality of evaporators and spaced therefrom, that absorbs heat of air discharged from the drum through the plurality of evaporators, and transfers the heat to air introduced into the drum through the condenser, using an operation fluid, which may circulate via the plurality of evaporators and the condenser; a plurality of divergence pipes that form a divergence passage, such that the operation fluid discharged from the condenser may be introduced into each of the plurality of evaporators; a plurality of electronic expansion valves provided at the plurality of divergence pipes, respectively, that opens and closes the plurality of divergence passage; and a controller that controls a flow amount of the operation fluid to be introduced into each of the plurality of evaporators by controlling an open degree of the divergence passage based on a super heat degree of the operation fluid passing through each of the plurality of evaporators.

    Abstract: A dryer includes a drum configured to receive a laundry item within its internal volume, a variable member positioned within the drum and configured to be movable in a lengthwise direction of the drum to thereby vary the internal volume of the drum, a motor disposed on a rear surface of the drum, the motor including a rotation shaft that is configured to rotate in a forward rotation direction or a reverse rotation direction, an adjustment shaft coupled to the rotation shaft and configured to extend to a preset position inside the drum, and a bracket fitted to the adjustment shaft and configured to couple the variable member and the adjustment shaft. The coupling of the variable member and the adjustment shaft enables movement of the variable member according to a rotation of the adjustment shaft.

    Abstract: A food waste treatment apparatus includes a housing that defines a space that is configured to dehydrate and dry food waste, the housing having an inlet port that is configured to receive the food waste and an outlet port that is configured to discharge the food waste that has been dehydrated and dried. The apparatus includes a cylindrical dehydrator that is configured to remove water included in the food waste by spinning the food waste inside the housing, the cylindrical dehydrator having a communication hole that is configured to connect with the inlet port or the outlet port based on rotation of the cylindrical dehydrator. The apparatus includes an agitator that is located in the cylindrical dehydrator that is configured to rotate simultaneously with or independently of the dehydrator. The apparatus includes a dryer that is configured to dry the food waste by supplying dry air to the housing.
