    Abstract: A mobile terminal includes a display; a touch sensor coupled to the display, the touch sensor including a first sensor and a second sensor; a driving unit configured to supply power to drive the display; and a touch controller configured to: cause the driving unit to enter an inactive state when a lighting of the display is turned off; recognize a touch input applied to the display by sensing, via the first or second sensor, the touch input applied while the lighting of the display is off; cause the driving unit to enter an active state in response to the touch input, the active state maintained while the lighting of the display is on; and obtain touch coordinates of the touch input using input from both the first sensor and the second sensor together when the driving unit enters the active state.

    Abstract: A mobile terminal including a window; a touch screen sensing a touch input applied to the window and outputting visual information; and an internal frame supporting a lower portion of the touch screen. Further, the touch screen includes a display module outputting the visual information; at least one heat dissipation layer disposed below the display module to dissipate heat; and a pressure sensing part including a ground layer and a pressure sensing layer spaced apart from each other with the at least one heat dissipation layer interposed therebetween and to sense a pressure of the touch input based on a change in capacitance according to a deformation of the at least one heat dissipation layer while the touch input is being applied. In addition, the ground layer is adjacent to the display module or the internal frame.

    Abstract: A mobile terminal is disclosed. The mobile terminal comprises: a case; an input module installed at the case, the input module acquiring a touch input of a user; and a controller generating a control signal, wherein the input module includes: a button having a plurality of holes, the plurality of holes located on the case; a capacitive sensor located in the case, the capacitive sensor acquiring a variation of a electrostatic capacitance in accordance with the touch input; and a dielectric layer located between the button and the capacitive sensor; wherein the electrostatic capacitance includes: a first electrostatic capacitance generated between the user and the capacitive sensor through the plurality of holes; and a second electrostatic capacitance generated between the button and the capacitive sensor, and wherein the controller generates the control signal when the capacitive sensor acquires the variations of the first and second electrostatic capacitances.

    Abstract: A mobile terminal which includes a terminal body; a display mounted to the terminal body; a window disposed to cover the display and including central and edge regions wherein the central region is formed of a transmissive material and configured to align with the display, and the edge region is formed of an opaque material and configured to surround the central region. The mobile terminal further includes a first touch sensor disposed to span at least the central region and configured to detect a touch input to the central region; and a second touch sensor disposed to span at least part of the edge region and configured to detect a touch input to the at least part of the edge region, wherein the second touch sensor is configured to have a higher touch sensitivity than the first in order to detect a touch input to the opaque edge region.
