    Abstract: An air conditioner and an air guide for an air conditioner are provided, the air guide being configured to guide air to a cross-flow fan of the air conditioner. The air conditioner may include a case including a front panel and a rear panel, the front panel including an intake grill and an outlet, a cross-flow fan and a heat exchanger being disposed inside of the case. The rear panel may include an air guide. The air guide may include a first guide surface inclined toward the cross-flow fan, and a second guide surface positioned at a downstream side of the first guide surface. The first guide surface may include at least one distribution guide that distributes and guides air, and thus, the air having been equally distributed by means of the at least one distribution guide may be suctioned into the cross-flow fan so that vortex generation is prevented, thereby enabling noise to be reduced.

    Abstract: A cross-flow fan, and blades of a cross-flow fan are provided. The cross-flow fan includes a rotary shaft; a plurality of blades that extends in a direction parallel to the rotary shaft and having a positive pressure surface and a negative pressure surface; and a connector that connects the rotary shaft and the plurality of blades. At least one protrusion that protrudes in a thickness direction and extends in a longitudinal direction of the plurality of blades is formed on the plurality of blades, and by means of the at least one protrusion formed on a blade surface, a flow separation phenomenon caused by friction with the blade surface is suppressed, thereby reducing noise generated by the cross-flow fan.

    Abstract: An air conditioner includes a housing that defines an air inlet and an air outlet, a heat exchanger, a blowing fan inside the housing, a lower guide configured to guide, toward the air outlet, air discharged to a rear side of the blowing fan and a lower side of the blowing fan, and an upper guide that is disposed vertically above the lower guide and that defines a discharge flow path with the lower guide. The discharge flow path extends from the blowing fan to the air outlet, and a cross sectional area of the discharge flow path increases toward the air outlet. The upper guide defines a curved surface that is disposed at a downstream end of the upper guide adjacent to the air outlet and that is convex toward the air outlet.

    Abstract: A blower according to an embodiment of the present disclosure includes: a case; a fan; and a diffuser disposed downstream of the fan and guiding air, discharged from the fan, toward the discharge ports, wherein the diffuser includes: an outer wall; an inner wall spaced apart inwardly from the outer wall so that an air passage is formed therebetween; and a plurality of vanes extending radially between the outer wall and the inner wall and dividing the air passage into a plurality of unit passages, wherein the outer wall and the inner wall are formed to have areas with different radial separation distances D between the outer wall and the inner wall, such that in an area of the air passage of the diffuser in which air is discharged to a portion having a high flow resistance in the blower, the radial separation distance D increases to widen the air passage S, thereby compensating for the asymmetry of the passage inside the blower, allowing a uniform volume of air to reach the entire area of the discharge ports, and improving the performance of the blower.
