Also disclosed is a method of treating a glass surface comprising applying the disclosed compositions to a glass surface. In one embodiment, a suitable glass surface is the windshield of a transportation vehicle such as an automobile.

摘要： Disclosed is a method of preventing frost and facilitating removal of winter precipitation relative to a windshield, comprising applying to a windshield a winter precipitation barrier composition. In one embodiment, the barrier composition comprises: a solvent and a silicon containing compound, the silicon containing compound comprising at least one of a reactive silane, a polyalkylene oxide polysiloxane, or a combination of at least one of the foregoing, wherein the reactive silane is at least one of a halosilane having the formula XnSiR4-n1 (I); an alkoxysilane or aminosilane having the formula a compound of formula (R6)3Si—R7—Si(R8)3 (III); or a combination comprising one or more of the foregoing reactive silanes. In another embodiment, the disclosed winter precipitation barrier composition comprises a reactive silane and a solvent, wherein the reactive silane is as described above.

摘要： Disclosed are methods of providing short-term protection to an automobile exterior. In one embodiment, the method comprises applying an aqueous film-forming automotive coating composition to an automobile exterior; drying the aqueous film-forming automotive coating composition at ambient conditions to form a protective coating that does not substantially alter the gloss or color of the automobile exterior; and removing the protective coating after a period of time post-application in a manner that does not result in damage to the automobile exterior and produces a biodegradable waste stream. A two component package is also provided, the package comprising an aqueous film-forming automotive coating composition comprising a film-forming polymer and a solvent; and an aqueous wash removal composition that is at least one of a surfactant wash, a solvent wash, a solvent surfactant wash, or a combination thereof. In another embodiment, a curable coating composition is applied and cured by natural sunlight.

摘要： A composition for sealing at least one fluid leak in heat exchange systems comprises at least one solvent, and fibrillated fiber in an amount and of a size sufficient to become entrained in and seal the one leak. At least one corrosion inhibitor is present in an amount sufficient to aid in prevention of corrosion of at least two metals. The corrosion inhibitor is compatible with coolants having organic acid corrosion inhibiting agents therein, and with coolants having silicate corrosion inhibiting agents therein.
