Abstract:
The present disclosure relates to cleaning compositions in general, and cleaning compositions that are well suited for use by individuals, who experience adverse health effects that may occur upon exposure to certain chemicals. This condition, characterized as multiple chemical sensitivities (MCS), makes it virtually impossible for certain individuals to use commercially available cleaning products without inducing immunological responses. The disclosure presents and describes protocols for the formulation and evaluation of a variety of cleaning products and dilutable cleaning product concentrates using a combination of 14C assay, head space analysis and screening of both ingredients and final products for governmentally-regulated materials. The methods and compositions newly presented herein avoid causing adverse health responses in individuals and are suitable for use by any person, particularly individuals who experience MCS.
Abstract:
A cleaning composition for an oral appliance, including (A) and (B). (A) 0.05 mass % or more and 8 mass % or less of an anionic homopolymer or copolymer which has a mass average molecular weight of 2,000 or higher and 500,000 or lower and includes a constituent unit derived from (a1) an anionic monomer having a carboxyl group, a sulfo group, or a phosphoric acid group. (B) one or more surfactants selected from the group consisting of an anionic surfactant, a nonionic surfactant, and an amphoteric surfactant.
Abstract:
The invention provides a composition comprising a mixture of pentadecanols wherein at least about 60 wt % of the mixture is linear pentadecanol and at least about 10 wt % of the mixture is branched pentadecanols wherein the branched pentadecanols have branching on the second carbon atom. The mixture of pentadecanols may be converted to one or more derivatives, and these derivatives may be used in laundry detergents, cleaning products or as an agricultural adjuvant, an emulsifying agent, a lubricant additive, a pour point depressant, or a personal care ingredient.
Abstract:
Disclosed are exemplary antimicrobial emulsions having hydrophobic and/or hydrophilic antimicrobial agents, surfactants, solubilizing agents, metal chelators and optionally thickening agents. The emulsions have a small particle size and high zeta potential. The emulsions are effective in cleaning, sanitizing, and disinfecting surfaces and are effective in killing a variety of organisms. The emulsions are stable and have a long shelf life. Other example materials are also disclosed.
Abstract:
A liquid droplet-making composition is provided. The liquid droplet-making composition may provide a liquid droplet with improved retentivity by including cellulose ether and a saccharide.
Abstract:
The present invention relates to fabric treatment compositions containing aminosiloxane polymer nanoemulsions. More specifically, the present invention relates to fabric treatment compositions containing aminosiloxane polymer nanoemulsions that may be used to protect surfaces from being soiled or wetted.
Abstract:
A composition including HCl, urea, complex substituted keto-amine-hydrochloride, an alcohol, an ethoxylate, and a ketone is provided in a method for solubilizing calcium carbonate in an aqueous suspension or dispersion of calcium carbonate.
Abstract:
A liquid composition for treatment of stained fabric is disclosed. The composition may be an aqueous emulsion that includes a fatty alcohol as a stabilizing agent. The composition may also include one or more nonionic surfactants, detersive enzymes, borax, cleaning agents, fragrances, pH adjusting agents, thickeners, and preservatives. The composition may remain a stable emulsion after even long term storage at various temperatures. Moreover, the composition's improved stability is achieved without significantly sacrifice of its stain removal performance.
Abstract:
The present invention relates to a water based nail polish remover composition comprising an anionic surfactant, a water soluble solvent, and water; wherein the anionic surfactant is selected from the group consisting of secondary C6-C22-alkane sulfonate trialcohol amine salts and mixtures thereof. The invention also relates to the use of the composition for removing nail polish.
Abstract:
The invention relates to the manufacture and use of a cleaning agent, characterized in that the cleaning agent comprises a microemulsion or a fluid nanophase system, and has the following components: a) at least one non-water-soluble substance having a solubility in water of less than 4 g per liter, b) at least one amphiphile substance, NP-MCA, that has no tenside structure, does not form structures on its own, has a solubility in water or oil between 4 g and 1000 g per liter, and preferably does not accumulate at the oil-water boundary, with the provision that NP-MCA is not selected from among 2-Ethyl-1,3-Hexanediol, 2-Methyl-2,4-Pentanediol, 2-(n-Butyl)-2-Ethyl-1,3-Propanediol and/or 1,2-Diols; c) at least one anionic, cationic, amphoteric and/or non-ionic tenside; d) water and/or a water-soluble solvent having hydroxyl functionality and, optionally, additives.
