    摘要: A connector assembly comprises a plurality of ports. Each of the plurality of ports is configured to receive a respective connector attached to a respective segment of physical communication media. Each of the plurality of ports comprises a respective media interface configured to receive data from a respective storage device attached to the respective connector. The connector assembly is configured to determine if a first connector attached to a first port included in the plurality of ports is defective by determining if a signal level received on the respective media interface associated with the first port has stabilized after a first predetermined amount of time has elapsed since the first connector was connected to the first port. If the signal level has not stabilized after the first predetermined amount of time has elapsed since the first connector was connected to the first port, the first connector is considered defective.

    摘要: An interface card adapted to be mounted at the back plane of a splitter chassis. The interface card includes card edge connectors for providing connections with a splitter card. The interface card also includes cable connectors for inputting mixed voice and data, and for outputting data and voice signals. Tracings are provided on the interface card for interconnecting the cable connectors and the card edge connectors. The tracings are configured such that first tracings carrying data signals from the splitter card to the cable connectors do not cross second tracings carrying voice signals from the splitter card to the cable connectors.

    摘要: An apparatus and method provide for filtering of voiceband and specified tone frequencies of a mixed voice/data signal, such as an Asymmetric Digital Subscriber Line (ADSL) signal. A lowpass filter section passes voiceband content of the mixed signal and suppresses mixed signal content having frequencies falling within a databand of the mixed signal. A bandpass filter section is coupled to or integral with the lowpass filter section and passes the specified tone frequency, such as a metering or billing tone frequency. The lowpass and bandpass filter sections exhibit a combined frequency response that provides for a stopband between the voiceband and the metering tone frequency. The bandpass filter section effectively detunes a frequency response of the lowpass filter section to provide for the stopband. The stopband preferably provides for an insertion loss of 3 dB or greater between the voiceband and the metering tone frequency, and suppresses undesirable mixed signal content having frequencies falling within the stopband. The lowpass filter section and the bandpass filter section may each be implemented to include only passive components, such as passive magnetic components.
