    摘要: A connector assembly is disclosed for effecting zero insertion force mating of projecting blade portions of terminals carried by a plug member with conductive holes in a circuit board or the like and enclosed in a header. The plug member has a housing, a plurality of terminals carried in the housing each with a blade portion projecting from a mating face and a conductor engaging portion, and hermaphroditic cover members enclosing a portion of the housing. The housing also has a cam surface and polarizing lugs. The header has means to mount it on a circuit board or the like with walls of the header forming a shroud around an array of conductive holes in the circuit board. A cam member is rotatably mounted in one end of the header to act on the plug member driving it transversely to bring the blades of the terminals into contact with the walls of the respective conductive holes.

    摘要: An improved bussing connector is disclosed for interconnecting a plurality of printed circuit boards and the like by means of simple blanked metal strips loaded into an appropriate housing. The subject bussing connector can be used in combination with many varieties of housings to appropriately bus pads of stacked printed circuit boards for signal, ground and power interconnection. In a further embodiment of the bussing connector, a cam can be utilized to provide zero insertion mating with the bus connector.

    摘要: A connector assembly is disclosed having both the capability of being mass terminated and for effecting zero insertion force mating with conductive holes of a printed circuit board or the like. The subject connector system includes a pair of identical housing members, each of which receives a plurality of terminals therein, and a pair of hermaphroditic cover members. Each housing member is an elongated member of insulative material having a mating face and a plurality of terminal receiving passages opening onto the mating face. The terminals each have a first end lying within the housing and capable of effecting mass termination of individual conductors by insulation displacing means and a second end extending from the mating face of the housing in resilient cantilever beam fashion. Each of the hermaphroditic cover members encloses a respective one of the housing members to form a complete subassembly. Each subassembly is mated to a circuit board in a tilted condition with the resilient beams of the terminals extending into the conductive holes of the circuit board. The subassemblies are then rotated relative to each other to latch the cover members together while bringing the beams into contact with the side walls of the conductive holes thereby effecting contact therewith while securing the connector assembly in the printed circuit board.

    摘要: A connector assembly is disclosed having both the capability of being mass terminated and for effecting zero insertion force mating with conductive holes of a printed circuit board or the like. The subject connector system includes a pair of identical housing members, each of which receives a plurality of terminals therein, and a pair of hermaphroditic cover members.     摘要: A bussing system for interconnecting circuits on pairs of adjacent parallel spaced circuit boards is formed by a bussing connector for each pair of circuit boards and a connector assembly on each circuit board. Each connector assembly has a header mounted on a first side of the circuit board, a shroud mounted on the opposite side of the circuit board, and a plurality of terminals mounted extending through the header, shroud and circuit board and making electrical contact with the latter. Each bussing connector includes a plurality of terminals mounted therein, each capable of engaging a pin terminal extending from a header of a first circuit board and a pin terminal extending from a shroud of a second circuit board.

    摘要: An alignment tool is formed by a pair of mutually interacting comb-like members which, in the open position, receive a plurality of pin terminals depending from a connector between the tines and, in the closed position, the tines engage the pin terminals from opposite sides in trapping them and forcing them to a correct aligned position. After mounting of the terminals into respective apertures of a circuit board or the like the tool is released and, because of its relatively thin dimensions, can be readily removed from between mounted and mounting members.

    摘要: A bussing system for interconnecting pairs of circuit boards in a closely spaced array of parallel spaced circuit boards is formed by a bussing connector for each pair of circuit boards and a pair of blade headers on each circuit board. The first header is mounted on a first side of a respective circuit board and the second header is mounted aligned on the opposite side of the circuit board. Each header is provided with a plurality of terminals having one end in electrical contact with the circuitry of the circuit board and an opposite end projecting from the respective header. The bussing connector has a housing containing a plurality of terminals each arranged to engage a terminal extending from a first header of a first circuit board and a terminal extending from a second header of an adjacent second circuit board.
