摘要： A spark arrester characterized by a fixed base assembly attached over the top of a chimney, a pivot assembly attached to the fixed base assembly, and a rotatable assembly rotatably coupled to the pivot assembly. The rotatable assembly is substantially cylindrically shaped having perforate sidewall portions and a perforate top portion. A vane portion of the rotatable assembly orients a windward section of the sidewall portion towards the wind, and a deflection plate attached within the sidewall portions proximate the windward section deflects the prevailing wind up through the top portion of the assembly. Co-action between the upwardly deflected wind and the underside of the vane portion creates a low pressure area over the top portion which substantially increases the draught of the chimney, resulting in reduced risk of chimney fires and an increased burn rate for airborne embers and sparks.

摘要： A structural mount for a vibrator of a screen separator is provided in which the vibrator mounting plate is secured at an angle directly to the basket side wall structure or to a load bearing structure which is parallel and fixed to the basket side wall structure. In a preferred embodiment of the invention, an opening or pocket is provided in the basket side wall to accommodate protrusion of the inward end of the vibrator into or even through the basket side wall. Access to and removal of the cap from the inward end of the vibrator is accomplished in the former case from the inside of the basket and in the latter case from the outside of the basket. The basket side wall reinforcing structure preferably includes a Y-shaped yoke with the mounting plate being fixed proximate the Y-connection point. Transverse reinforcing members of the basket have their ends fixed to the extremities of the Y-shaped yoke. Thus a modest reinforcement of the basket side wall structure to accommodate reduced displacement of the vibrator from the basket side wall results in a significant reduction in the overall structural requirements of the separator basket.

摘要： The present invention is directed to the production of pyrrolnitrin in a host via recombinant expression of the polypeptides needed to biologically synthesize pyrrolnitrin. Genes isolated from P. fluorescens, P. pyrrocinia, B. cepacia, and M. fulvus that encode polypeptides necessary to produce pyrrolnitrin are provided, along with methods for identifying and isolating genes needed to recombinantly biosynthesize pyrrolnitrin from any organism capable of producing pyrrolnitrin. The isolated genes may be transformed and expressed in a desired host organisms to produce pyrrolnitrin according to the invention for a variety of purposes, including protecting the host from a pathogen, developing the host as a biocontrol agent, and producing large, uniform amounts of pyrrolnitrin.

摘要： A unitary cover includes a base and a cap portion which are moveable relative to one another into a closed operative condition to conceal a fastener head or nut. The generally flat base has an aperture therethrough for extension of the fastener's shank while the portions about the aperture serve as a washer for the fastener head or nut. The cap portion has an oblong and dome-like shape and shares a thin edge with an edge of the base which forms a living hinge therebetween to allow the base and cap to pivot between opened and closed operative positions with respect to one another. Free edge portions of the base and of the cap engage when moved into a closed operative position. Specifically, an inwardly projecting catch formation on the cap edge encounters a beveled formation on the base edge to flex the cap edge outward an allow the catch formation to be trapped by the bevel formation thereby securing the edges together. Release of the catch formation from the bevel formation is accomplished by squeezing the opposed ends of the cap portion which flexes the catch formation outward from the bevel.
