摘要: A display system for presenting three-dimensional images. The display system includes projection unit including projection subassemblies, wherein each projection subassembly includes array of point-like light sources, spatial light modulator and controller; projection screen; and processor. The processor is configured to: process three-dimensional data pertaining to a scene to generate image data of three-dimensional image; and display three-dimensional image, via projection subassemblies of the projection unit, wherein, in each of projection subassemblies, the controller is configured to multiplex operations of individual point-like light sources of the array and the spatial light modulator in a time-sequential manner, based on the image data of three-dimensional image, to display a plurality of segments of three-dimensional image sequentially.

摘要: Displaying a sequence of three-dimensional images includes generating a data stream including a plurality of image planes associated with each image of the sequence of three-dimensional images, generating a bit-plane stream associated with the data stream, the bit-plane stream including a plurality of bit-planes associated with each image of the sequence of three-dimensional images, buffering the bit-plane stream asynchronously to provide a first plurality of bit-planes associated with a first three-dimensional image, and projecting a first plurality of image planes associated with the first three-dimensional image to display the first three-dimensional image, based upon the first plurality of bit-planes, the first plurality of image planes being projected until a second plurality of bit-planes associated with a second three-dimensional image is provided.

摘要: A display apparatus for presenting three-dimensional imagery, including an optical combiner having a first side, a second side, a third side and a fourth side. The second side is opposite to the first side and the fourth side being is opposite to the third side. Optical combiner further includes a first semi-transparent reflective portion arranged to reflect light incoming from the first side towards the fourth side and a second semi-transparent reflective portion arranged to reflect light incoming from the second side towards the fourth side. Light incoming from the third side passes through the first semi-transparent reflective portion and the second semi-transparent reflective portion towards the fourth side. The display apparatus further includes of a first display, a second display and a third display arranged at a first distance, a second distance and a third distance from the first side, the second side and the third side of the optical combiner, respectively, wherein a first image, a second image and a third image rendered at the first display, the second display and the third display are presented at a first focal distance, a second focal distance and a third focal distance, respectively, thereby creating the three-dimensional image.

摘要: Disclosed is volumetric display arrangement for representing content of an image at different focal distances in a view of real-world environment. The volumetric display arrangement includes at least one image projection unit operable to project multiple depth planes of the image, at least one electro-optical unit comprising two or more optical diffuser elements arranged parallel to each other, the at least one electro-optical unit being positioned to receive the projected multiple depth planes of the image thereon and configured to independently display one of the projected multiple depth planes of the image at one of the two or more optical diffuser elements at a given instant of time, and an optical combiner positioned with respect to the at least one electro-optical unit to combine the view of real-world environment with the independently displayed multiple depth planes of the image in the at least one electro-optical unit.
