A micro-channel heat exchanger includes an inlet manifold fluidly connected with an outlet manifold by a plurality of generally parallel tubes, further defining a plurality of generally parallel micro-channels therethrough. Refrigerant is introduced to the heat exchanger through a distributor tube disposed within the inlet manifold. The distributor tube includes a plurality of non-circular openings disposed along the length thereof which act as an outlet for refrigerant flow into the inlet manifold and eventually into and through the tubes and micro-channels. The openings are preferably slots arranged along the length of the distributor tube at an angle relative to the longitudinal direction of the distributor tube and oriented within the inlet manifold for a general direction of refrigerant flow at an angle relative to the general direction of refrigerant flow through the tubes. Alternative shapes for the openings are also considered.

A heat exchanger is disclosed, which comprises an inlet header defining a refrigerant chamber therein; an outlet header spaced apart from the inlet header; a plurality of tubes, two ends of each tube being connected to and communicating with the inlet and outlet headers respectively; a plurality of fins, each of which is interposed between adjacent tubes; and a distribution tube disposed outside the refrigerant chamber and formed with a distribution opening, through which the distribution tube communicates with the refrigerant chamber. According to the present invention, the distribution tube is easy to assemble, disassemble and maintain. The refrigerants in the inlet header and the distribution tube do not disadvantageously affect each other, thus enhancing distribution of refrigerant.

The present invention discloses a fin for a heat exchanger, the fin comprises a plurality of fin plates which are adjacent to one another, each of the fin plates is formed with louvers; and a connecting portion which connects adjacent fin plates at an end of the adjacent fin plates. The connecting portion comprises a middle curved section and side curved sections located on the sides of the middle curved section, and the curvature radius of the middle curved section is larger than the curvature radius of the side curved sections. With the technical solution of the invention, since the contact area between the flat tubes and the fin increases, the fin efficiency is increased and thus the heat exchange performance of the heat exchanger is enhanced

A refrigerant distributor for a heat exchanger is disclosed. The distributor comprises: a pipe having an inlet disposed generally at one end of the pipe, refrigerant flows into and through the pipe through the inlet. The cross-section of a flow passage within the pipe gradually decreases from the one end to the other end of the pipe. With the above configuration, the refrigerant can be distributed relatively uniformly from the distributor.
