摘要: In certain embodiments, a sensing and tracking system detects objects, such as user input devices or peripherals, and user interactions with them. A representation of the objects and user interactions are then injected into the virtual reality environment. The representation can be an actual reality, augmented reality, virtual representation or any combination. For example, an actual keyboard can be injected, but with the keys pressed being enlarged and lighted.

摘要: An input device including a housing, a cover plate, and a shape-memory polymer (SMP) disposed between the cover plate and the housing. The SMP being a rectangular flat lattice structure formed into a cylinder, the cylinder having a top portion and a bottom portion, where the top portion is coupled to the cover plate, and where the bottom portion is coupled to the housing. The SMP can be conformable at temperatures at or above a threshold value, and non-conformable at temperatures below the threshold value. The input device can include a heating element coupled to the SMP and configured to control the temperature of the SMP. The SMP can be comprised of a conductive ink formed of a density of conductive particulates, an etched conductor structure on a non-conductive substrate, or a conductive and stretchable yarn formed into a coil.

摘要: An input device comprising a housing, a plurality of physical keys disposed in the housing, and a processor to generate an output signal in response to one of the plurality of physical keys being activated, and control an operation of one or more virtual keys displayed on a touch-sensitive display, the physical keys and the one or more virtual keys configured for concurrent operation. The processor can be further configured to communicate with a software application operating on the touch-sensitive display and control a selection of the one or more virtual keys based on features of the software application. In some embodiments, the virtual keys can be one or more emojis. The emojis can include a context specific emoji corresponding to at least a portion of a recently input word or phrase on the plurality of physical keys, trending emojis associated with a social media platform, and more.

摘要: An AR/VR input device include a processor(s), an internal measurement unit (IMU), and a plurality of sensors configured to detect emissions received from a plurality of remote emitters. The processor(s) can be configured to: determine a time-of-flight (TOF) of the detected emissions, determine a first estimate of a position and orientation of the input device based on the TOF of a subset of the detected emissions and the particular locations of each of the plurality of sensors on the input device that are detecting the detected emissions, determine a second estimate of the position and orientation of the input device based on the measured acceleration and velocity from the IMU, and continuously update a calculated position and orientation of the input device within the AR/VR environment in real-time based on a Beyesian estimation (e.g., Extended Kalman filter) that utilizes the first estimate and second estimate.

摘要: In some embodiments, an input device for interfacing within an VR/AR environment can include a processor, one or more motion tracking sensors to track a motion of the input device in three-dimensional (3D) space, where a cursor in the VR/AR environment moves based on the tracked motion of the input device in 3D space and is limited to tracked motion having three degrees of freedom (DOF). The input device can further include a button that, when activated, selects an application window in the VR/AR environment when the cursor is placed over the application window, where the application window moves in the VR/AR environment based on the tracked motion of the input device in 3D space while the application window is selected. The input device can include a user interface that, when activated, accesses and controls content on the selected application window.
