Abstract: A vehicular window assembly includes a laminated glass window panel comprising an inner glass sheet and an outer glass sheet that are laminated together. A sensing device is disposed between the inner and outer glass sheets and includes a plurality of sensors and a plurality of illumination sources. With the laminated glass window panel disposed at a vehicle and when one or more of said illumination sources are activated, a person viewing the laminated glass window panel from exterior of the vehicle views one or more of a plurality of icons or alphanumeric characters illuminated by light emitted by the activated respective one or more of the illumination sources. With the laminated glass window panel disposed at the vehicle and when the illumination sources are not activated, the sensing device is not readily visible to the person viewing the laminated glass window panel from exterior of the vehicle.

Abstract: A window assembly for a vehicle includes a glass window panel having a non-light-transmitting layer established at a perimeter region thereof, and a sensing device disposed at the glass window panel at and behind the non-light-transmitting layer. The non-light-transmitting layer has at least one light-transmitting aperture or icon or alphanumeric character established thereat. The sensing device is disposed at the glass window panel such that a sensor and an illumination source of the sensing device are disposed at each of the light-transmitting apertures established at the non-light-transmitting layer. When the illumination sources are activated, the respective illumination source emits light through the respective light-transmitting aperture and does not emit light through the non-light-transmitting layer, whereby a person viewing the window panel from exterior of the vehicle views a plurality of icons or alphanumeric characters illuminated by respective ones of the illumination sources when the illumination source is/are activated.

Abstract: A slider window assembly for a vehicle includes at least one fixed window panel and a frame portion attached at the at least one fixed window panel. A movable window panel is movable along upper and lower rails of the frame portion and movable between a closed position and an opened position. At least one of the upper and lower rails includes a recess for receiving adhesive therein and a tapered end region at an end of the recess. The tapered end region includes at least one notch or groove through a wall that at least partially circumscribes the recess, with the notch or groove configured to allow excess adhesive to escape during the adhesive bonding of the at least one of the upper and lower rails to the at least one fixed window panel. The tapered end region has an outer tapered surface opposite the recess.

Abstract: A slider window assembly for a vehicle includes a frame portion having an upper rail and a lower rail, with at least one fixed window panel fixed relative to the frame portion and defining an opening. A movable window panel is movable along the upper and lower rails between a closed position and an opened position. A perimeter seal is disposed at the at least one fixed window panel. The perimeter seal includes a single continuous sealing element that circumscribes the opening and that is configured to substantially seal against a surface of the movable window panel about a periphery of the movable window panel when the movable window panel is in its closed position.

Abstract: A method for making a slider window assembly for a vehicle includes providing at least one fixed window panel and a movable window panel. A perimeter seal is disposed at least at a surface of the fixed window panel and includes a continuous sealing element that circumscribes an opening of the fixed window panel and that is configured to seal against the movable window panel about a periphery of the movable window panel when the movable window panel is closed. The perimeter seal includes a sealing tab at a corner region of the perimeter seal where an upper sealing portion is joined with a first elongated side sealing portion. The sealing tab is established at an elongated sealing lip of the upper sealing portion or of the first elongated side sealing portion. The sealing tab extends from the elongated sealing lip toward the surface of the fixed window panel.

Abstract: A rear slider window assembly for a vehicle includes a fixed window panel and a movable window panel that is movable between a closed position and an opened position. The movable window panel includes a laminated movable window panel having an electrical element disposed between an inner glass panel and an outer glass panel. The first electrical element is in electrical connection with a wire harness of the vehicle via a flexible connector electrically connected to a first electrical connector at an inner surface of the movable window panel and to a second electrical connector at the inner surface of the fixed window panel. The first electrical connector is electrically connected to the first electrical element via a thin flat connector that extends from the first electrical connector and wraps around a perimeter edge of the inner glass panel of the movable window panel.

Abstract: A method of forming a unitary perimeter seal for attachment at a fixed window panel of a slider window assembly of a vehicle includes forming upper, lower and side sealing portions each having elongated body portions and sealing lips extending substantially therealong. The upper and lower sealing portion are arranged with first ends adjacent a respective end of a first side sealing portion and second ends adjacent a respective end of a second side sealing portion. The sealing portions are arranged so as to result in a perimeter frame that circumscribes an opening for the slider window assembly. Corner regions are molded at and partially over adjacent ends of the elongated body portions of the sealing portions, such that the corner regions include a curved sealing lip that provides a transition between the sealing lips of the adjacent ends of the sealing portions.
