    Abstract: Twisting of a locking member due to cogging torque is reduced without lowering the locking and unlocking operability for a user. A power tool includes a housing, an electric motor located inside the housing and including a permanent magnet, a shaft rotatable about an axis relative to the housing to transmit power from the electric motor, a locking member movable between a lock position and an unlock position in a nonenergized state of the electric motor and engageable with the shaft at the lock position to lock rotation of the shaft, and an abutting member that applies, to the locking member at the lock position, a force in a direction opposite to an axial torque caused by the permanent magnet and applied to the locking member.

    Abstract: A portable cutting machine allows a large battery pack to be attached on the rear of a handle unit without largely increasing the height of the handle unit. A portable cutting machine to which a battery pack having a connecting surface is attachable includes a base that comes in contact with a workpiece, a cutting machine body supported on an upper surface of the base and including a cutting blade protruding from a lower surface of the base to cut the workpiece, an electric motor that drives the cutting blade, and a handle unit grippable by a user, and a battery attachment portion located opposite to the cutting blade with respect to the handle unit to receive the battery pack attachable by sliding in a posture with the connecting surface facing sideward.

    Abstract: A dust case has improved operability for attachment and detachment. A portable cutting machine includes a cutting machine body to which a blade being circular is attachable, and a dust case detachably attached to the cutting machine body. The dust case includes a detachment operation unit pushable along an imaginary plane parallel to a surface of the blade in detachment from the cutting machine body, and a finger support including a surface frontward from the detachment operation unit in a pushing direction in which the detachment operation unit is pushed. The surface is substantially perpendicular to the pushing direction.
