Abstract: Provided is an exhaust device connected to an engine body. The exhaust device includes a plurality of independent exhaust pipes, each of which has a circular cross section, and which are connected to exhaust ports of cylinders of the engine body; and a mixing pipe having a circular cross section, connected to downstream ends of the independent exhaust pipes, and through which exhaust gas that has passed through the independent exhaust pipes flows in. The independent exhaust pipes are connected to an upstream end of the mixing pipe in such a manner that parts of internal spaces of the circular cross sections overlap each other in a predetermined section from the downstream ends of the independent exhaust pipes toward upstream, and a ratio of overlapping portions of the circular cross sections gradually increases from upstream toward downstream.

Abstract: An exhaust gas recirculation (EGR) passage is connected with an intake passage (a bypass passage bypassing a supercharger) of an engine. The EGR passage includes, in a position close to a connection port to the intake passage, an expanding portion in which a passage cross-sectional area expands and which lowers a flow speed of EGR gas so as to reduce an uneven flow, in the connection port, of the EGR gas flowing into the intake passage.

Abstract: A exhaust gas purifier includes a case having a flat transverse section including a pair of facing short sides and a pair of facing long sides, and configured to house a catalytic converter, and an inlet cone including a conical portion, and configured to connect an outlet of the turbine to an inlet of the case. The conical portion includes an inclined wall inclined from a mainstream of the exhaust gas to increase the transverse section of a path of the exhaust gas. A recess recessed inward is formed in a portion corresponding to each of the long sides of the inclined wall of the conical portion.
