    Abstract: Apparatus and methods are provided for dynamic sidelink (SL) resource allocation. In one novel aspect, one or more uplink (UL) resources are allocated for SL transceiving. In one embodiment, the UE establishes an SL connection with an SL peer UE, receives an allocation indication indicating one or more UL resources are available as shared SL resources for SL transceiving, wherein the allocation indication is originated from a gNB, and performs SL data transceiving with the SL peer UE using the one or more UL resources indicated in the allocation indication. In one embodiment, the UE receives the allocation indication through the Uu connection by unicast, multicast or broadcast. In one embodiment, the shared SL resources are indicated by RB ID or by SL grants. In one embodiment, conditions for using the shared SL resources are included in the allocation indication or are indicated in a separate RRC configuration.

    Abstract: In an aspect of the disclosure, a method, a computer-readable medium, and a wireless communication system including a control device and one or more cells are provided. The control device configures triggering conditions for a user equipment (UE) to initiate transmission of specific uplink (UL) reference signals for UL radio resource management (RRM) measurements. The one or more cells detect the specific UL reference signals transmitted by the UE on specific UL RRM resources based on a reference timing when the triggering conditions are met at the UE. The one or more cells measure the specific UL reference signals to obtain measurement results. The control device decides for a carrier change or a cell change based on the measurement results of the one or more cells. The control device indicates to the UE a set of selected cells or carriers for the UE to connect.

    Abstract: A method of acquiring timing advance (TA) for neighbor cells to reduce latency and interruption for inter-cell mobility is proposed. A UE is configured with a set of active cells for fast cell-switching. A neighbor cell in the active set is likely to be UE’s target cell. To reduce handover interruption, the UE acquires and maintains the TA corresponding to the cells in the active set. The UE performs early RACH for potential target cells and obtains the TA of the potential target cells. Once the UE receives handover command indicating one of the active cells as target cell, the UE can complete the handover without performing RACH again.

    Abstract: A method of configuring a set of active cells among neighboring cells to reduce latency and interruption for inter-cell mobility is proposed. The set of active cells is an active set of cells among which UE can do fast cell switching. The set of active cells is configured by the network based on UE measurement report or network deployment information. UE maintains the configuration and can perform pre-synchronization to the configured active cells in downlink (DL) only or in both DL and uplink (UL). UE maintains the DL/UL synchronization with the active cells, and applies configuration once UE is indicated to switch to an active cell as the target cell. Because UE maintains the configuration and DL/UL timing of the target cell before receiving the cell-switch command, the mobility latency and interruption time for inter-cell mobility is reduced.

    Abstract: A method for harmonized operation between radio link monitor and beam failure recovery is proposed. In one example, upon indication of unsuccessful recovery from beam failure, a counter is initiated to count a configured number of OOS indication before RLF is declared due to beam failure. In another example, upon indication of successful recovery from beam failure, a counter is initiated to count a configured number of IS indication before starting over RLM procedure on its previous observations on failed beams. As a result, either early RLF declaration or RLM reset may be triggered based on BFR procedure to more accurately maintain the link quality.
