Abstract: A method includes receiving an UL prioritization threshold and a SL prioritization threshold at a user equipment (UE), and determining whether an UL transmission overlaps a SL transmission in time domain. When the UL transmission overlaps the SL transmission in time domain, which of the UL transmission and the SL transmission is to be prioritized is determined based on the UL prioritization threshold and the SL prioritization threshold, and logical channel (LCH) priorities associated with the UL transmission and the SL transmission. The method can further includes performing one of the UL transmission and the SL transmission that is prioritized.

Abstract: Aspects of the disclosure provide an electronic device including a transceiver and processing circuitry. The transceiver can be configured to wirelessly receive at least one signal from a network including a first cell. The at least one signal can indicate a link quality of a wireless link formed between the electronic device and the base station in a first cell. The processing circuitry can be configured to determine whether beam failure occurs on the first cell based on at least one signal quality of the at least one signal. When the beam failure is determined to occur on the first cell, the processing circuitry can be configured to report information of the first cell to the network indicating the beam failure on the first cell.

Abstract: Aspects of the disclosure provide methods and an apparatus to transmit with resources overlapped. For example, the apparatus can include receiving circuitry, processing circuitry, and transmitting circuit. The receiving circuitry receives a grant of an uplink resource for an uplink transmission from a base station at a user equipment (UE). The processing circuitry determines a sidelink resource for a sidelink transmission based on a grant from the base station or an autonomous selection by the UE. The transmitting circuitry prioritizes the uplink transmission with the uplink resource over the sidelink transmission with the sidelink resource when the sidelink resource overlaps the uplink resource and a message of a random access channel (RACH) procedure is to be transmitted.

Abstract: A method of system information (SI) acquisition with reduced signaling overhead is proposed. To reduce SI broadcast overhead, the quantity of periodic SI broadcast and the frequency of on-demand SI acquisition need to be reduced. To reduce the frequency of on-demand SI acquisition, rather than always re-acquire SI when serving cell changes, UE is enabled to reuse stored SI information elements across different cells. More specifically, a novel concept of SI ID is introduced to be associated with an area that applies the same SI configuration. UE can reuse stored SI information elements if the stored SI information elements are valid based on the SI ID and validity check.

Abstract: Various solutions for data transmission over multiple uplink carrier with respect to user equipment (UE) in mobile communications are described. A UE may establish a connection over a downlink component carrier and a first uplink component carrier with a network apparatus. The UE may further establish a connection over a second uplink component carrier with the network apparatus. The UE may transmit uplink data to the network apparatus via at least one of the first uplink component carrier and the second uplink component carrier. The UE may also assign the first uplink component carrier as a primary carrier and assigning the second uplink component carrier as a supplementary carrier. The UE may further switch the primary carrier from the first uplink component carrier to the second uplink component carrier.

Abstract: Apparatus and methods are provided for relay-assisted retransmission. In one novel aspect, the remote UE receives data transmission from the source entity through a direct link and retransmission from a relay UE. In one embodiment, the relay UE receives feedback indication from the remote UE, transmits the feedback to the source entity, and retransmits one or more TBs to the remote UE through a SL connection upon detecting one or assisted retransmission triggers. In one embodiment, the feedback is a joint HARQ, wherein a NACK is sent when both the relay UE and remote UE failed, and an ACK is sent when at least one of the relay UE and the remote UE succeeds. In one embodiment, the relay UE retransmits one or more successfully received TBs to the remote UE upon receiving a failure indication from the remote UE or receiving retransmission indication from the source entity.

Abstract: Solutions are proposed to handle PRACH resource and beam selection under the following scenarios. First, a CFRA procedure is initiated, but all beams associated with the CFRA resource is below a RSRP threshold and CBRA fallback is not supported. UE continues to perform CFRA by selecting any downlink beam associated with dedicated PRACH resource, and then select dedicated PRACH resource associated with the selected downlink beam; second, a CFRA procedure is initiated but the active UL BWP is not paired with the active DL BWP. Upon CFRA initiation, UE uses current active UL and DL BWP to perform CFRA, and switches to another BWP pair upon all beams associated with the CFRA resource are below a RSRP threshold; third, a CBRA procedure is initiated but the active UL BWP is not configured with PRACH resource. UE selects a special UL/DL BWP to perform the CBRA procedure.

Abstract: A method of enhanced discontinuous reception (DRX) operation for additional power saving is proposed. A UE is allowed to not restart the DRX inactivity timer if there is no uplink data available to transmit, even when the UE receives a dynamic uplink grant. The UE thus can terminate the DRX active time and go to sleep earlier when the inactivity timer expires. The UE can send a sync message to inform the gNB of “not restarting the inactivity timer”, or the UE can send information for the gNB to know when the DRX active time will be terminated. Furthermore, the UE is allowed to request for dynamic DRX active time termination, e.g., to dynamically request for terminating the DRX active time earlier by sending a request or a notification to the network.

Abstract: An apparatus detects a beam failure of a serving cell. In response, the apparatus triggers a beam failure recovery request (BFRQ). The BFRQ remains pending until cancelled. In triggering the BFRQ the apparatus generates a BFRQ medium access control (MAC) control element (CE) and transmits the BFRQ MAC CE to a wireless network using a resource according to an uplink (UL) grant.
