    Abstract: A secondary battery includes a positive electrode, a negative electrode, and an electrolytic solution. The negative electrode includes first fiber parts, particle parts, and second fiber parts, and has voids. The first fiber parts are coupled to each other to thereby form a three-dimensional mesh structure having the voids. The first fiber parts each include carbon as a constituent element. The particle parts cover surfaces of the first fiber parts. Some of the particle parts are coupled to each other. The particle parts each include silicon as a constituent element. At least some of the second fiber parts are coupled to surfaces of the particle parts. The second fiber parts each include carbon as a constituent element. The first fiber parts have an average fiber diameter that is greater than or equal to 50 nm and less than or equal to 7000 nm. The second fiber parts have an average fiber diameter that is greater than or equal to 1 nm and less than or equal to 200 nm. The negative electrode has a void rate that is greater than or equal to 42 vol % and less than or equal to 73 vol %.

    Abstract: A secondary battery includes a positive electrode, a negative electrode, a separator, and an electrolytic solution. The negative electrode includes fiber parts and covering parts, and has voids. The separator is disposed between the positive electrode and the negative electrode. The fiber parts are coupled to each other to thereby form a three-dimensional mesh structure having the voids. The fiber parts each include carbon as a constituent element. The covering parts each cover a surface of corresponding one of the fiber parts, and each include silicon as a constituent element. Where the negative electrode is bisected into a first part and a second part in a direction in which the positive electrode and the negative electrode are opposed to each other with the separator interposed between the positive electrode and the negative electrode, at least one of an average fiber diameter of the fiber parts, a proportion of a weight of the covering parts to a sum of a weight of the fiber parts and the weight of the covering parts, or a void rate varies between the first part and the second part. The first part is positioned on a side close to the separator. The second part is positioned on a side far from the separator.

    Abstract: The present disclosure provides a negative electrode active material for a battery, exhibiting sufficiently excellent initial charge-discharge efficiency and cycle characteristics by suppressing physical deterioration of a film due to expansion and contraction of a core material. The negative electrode active material for a battery, comprising: a negative electrode active material core material; and a film provided on a surface of the negative electrode active material core material. The film includes an organic-inorganic hybrid film having a reactant. The reactant at least includes a first metal alkoxide including no metal atom-carbon atom bond in a molecule; and a second metal alkoxide including two or more of metal atom-carbon atom bonds in a molecule.
