    摘要: An image processing apparatus that displays, on a display region having a first number of pixels, an image represented by gigantic image data that is recorded in a recording medium and has a second number of pixels that is significantly greater than the first number of pixels, including: a reproducing unit configured to read image data from the recording medium; an output unit configured to output the image data, which is read by the reproducing unit from the recording medium, in synchronization with a vertical synchronization signal; and a control unit configured to control the reproducing unit and the output unit. The control unit performs control to extract and read a region corresponding to the display region from the gigantic image data recorded in the recording medium.
