摘要:
A process for preparing a radiation curable solid ink composition wherein a solid pigment and dispersant are added to a molten solid monomer including (a) heating a monomer that is solid at room temperature to a temperature above the monomer melting point to provide a molten solid monomer; (b) adding a curable component, a non-curable component, and a photoinitiator to the molten solid monomer to provide a molten ink base; (c) adding a dispersant to the molten ink base; and (d) a adding a pigment to the molten ink base with stirring to provide a curable pigmented ink composition. Included is a process for preparing a radiation curable solid ink composition wherein a liquid pigment concentrate or a solid pigment concentrate is added to an ink base.
摘要:
Curable phase change inks contain an ink vehicle, a pigment and a dispersant. A base ink set is of colored phase change inks that utilize the same dispersant, and also desirably contain the same amount of the dispersant. This allows the different color curable phase change inks to be mixed together while avoiding incompatibilities between each other, resulting in custom colors and a reliable expanded color gamut for the base ink set. Also, a method of forming images with the custom color curable phase change inks is disclosed.
摘要:
Disclosed is a radiation curable solid ink composition comprising: (a) a curable wax; (b) at least one curable monomer, oligomer, or prepolymer; (c) at least one photoinitiator; and (d) a pigment colorant; wherein the ink is a solid at a first temperature of about 25° C. or lower; and wherein the ink is a liquid at a second temperature of about 40° C. or higher; said ink being curable by free-radical polymerization.
摘要:
Systems and methods are provided for digital printing of Braille or other raised printing. In some embodiments, ink is printed directly from a print head onto a substrate, rather than onto a transfer drum that is later printed onto a substrate. In some embodiments, a plurality of layers of a curable, phase-change ink are printed onto the substrate, wherein pauses of a predetermined time are included in between of layers to enable the curable, phase-change ink to set up into a given shape and height. In some embodiments, temperatures of printing components are lowered from those used for traditional printing, so as to enable the curable phase change ink to set up into a given shape and height. In some embodiments, spacing of components are altered from those used for traditional printing, so as to enable the curable phase change ink to set up into a given shape and height.
摘要:
A method for fabricating a three-dimensional object including depositing a first amount of an ultraviolet curable phase change ink composition comprising an optional colorant and a phase change ink vehicle comprising a radiation curable monomer or prepolymer; a photoinitiator; a reactive wax; and a gellant upon a print region surface; successively depositing additional amounts of the ultraviolet curable phase change ink composition to create a three-dimensional object; and curing the ultraviolet curable phase change ink composition.

There is provided novel curable ink compositions comprising coated magnetic metal nanoparticles. In particular, there is provided ultraviolet (UV) curable gel inks comprising at least the coated magnetic metal nanoparticles, one curable monomer, a radiation activated initiator that initiates polymerization of curable components of the ink, a gellant. The inks may also include optional colorants and one or more optional additives. These curable gel UV ink compositions can be used for ink jet printing in a variety of applications.
