Abstract: Multilayer oxide ceramic bodies and in particular presintered multilayer oxide ceramic blanks and oxide ceramic green bodies, which comprise at least two different layers and are suitable for dental applications, wherein at least one layer contains La2O3 and the at least two different layers differ in their content of La2O3. These bodies can be thermally densified by further sintering without distortion and are therefore particularly suitable for the production of dental restorations. The invention also relates to a process for the production of such multilayer oxide ceramic bodies as well as a process for the production of dental restorations using the multilayer oxide ceramic bodies.

Abstract: One embodiment of the disclosure provides a method of fabricating a chamber component with a coating layer disposed on an interface layer with desired film properties. In one embodiment, a method of fabricating a coating material includes providing a base structure comprising an aluminum or silicon containing material, forming an interface layer on the base structure, wherein the interface layer comprises one or more elements from at least one of Ta, Al, Si, Mg, Y, or combinations thereof, and forming a coating layer on the interface layer, wherein the coating layer has a molecular structure of SivYwMgxAlyOz. In another embodiment, a chamber component includes an interface layer disposed on a base structure, wherein the interface layer is selected from at least one of Ta, Al, Si, Mg, Y, or combinations thereof, and a coating layer disposed on the interface layer, wherein the coating layer has a molecular structure of SivYwMgxAlyOz.

Abstract: A ceramic liner can include a monolithic body having a surface portion and a bulk portion. The surface portion can have a thickness less than the total thickness of the monolithic body. The monolithic body can include an amorphous phase. The amorphous phase can be discontinuous. At least one member of the discontinuous phase can be embedded in the surface portion. The bulk portion can be substantially free of the amorphous phase. A method of forming a ceramic liner can include providing a furnace with a coating and a bulk material of the ceramic liner and heating the bulk material and the coating. In an embodiment, a coated lining form can be used to provide the coating. In a particular embodiment, the coating can be transferred to the bulk material from the coated lining form.

Abstract: Various embodiments disclosed relate to an optical window including an infrared light transmissive optical material. The optical material includes a first ceramic phase including a first ceramic material and a first dopant distributed therein. The optical material further includes a second ceramic phase homogenously intermixed with the first ceramic phase and comprising a second ceramic material and a second dopant distributed therein. The first dopant increases the refractive index of the first ceramic material and the second dopant decreases the refractive index of the second ceramic material. The first dopant and the second dopant are present in an amount such that a difference in a refractive index of the first ceramic phase and of the second ceramic phase is in a range of from about 0.001 to about 0.2.

Abstract: A spiral-orifice ceramic filter for metal casting, including spiral channels and two drain openings, where the spiral channels are distributed in a ceramic substrate in a staggered manner. By adoption of the spiral channel structure, molten metal may rotate to generate a centrifugal force while flowing forwards so as to promote separation of inclusions. The spiral-orifice ceramic filter for metal casting includes the following components: 90-95 wt % of MgO, 4-8 wt % of SiO2 and 2-4 wt % of ZrO2. Therefore, the spiral-orifice ceramic filter for metal casting has high strength under normal temperature and optional thermal impact resistance under high temperature, and may tolerate the impact of molten metal at 1700° C. or higher without break. The ceramic substrate and the spiral channel are superficially coated with one layer of functional oxide prepared from CaO.2Al2O3, CaO.6Al2O3, Al2O3, TiO2, or Re2O3.
