摘要: Included are embodiments for enhanced carrier suppression. One embodiment of a circuit includes a mixer that receives a cover sequence, the cover sequence including transition data from a first signal and a second signal. The mixer may be configured to generate a modulated cover sequence by modulating a radio frequency (RF) carrier with the cover sequence. Some embodiments also include a modulator that is communicatively coupled to the mixer. The modulator may be configured to receive and modulate an altered version of the first signal and an altered version of the second signal. The modulator may additionally receive the modulated cover sequence as an RF carrier input and generate an RF output by modulating the modulated cover sequence with the altered version of the first signal and the altered version of the second signal.

摘要: The present invention relates to reducing backflow in an electrowetting element for modifying a radiation beam characteristic. The electrowetting element comprises a first and a second fluid which are immiscible with each other and are switchable between a first configuration and a second configuration by application of a voltage across at least one of the first and second fluids. There is a tendency for backflow of the second fluid from the first configuration to the second configuration when the second fluid is switched to be provided in the first configuration. The electrowetting element comprises a backflow reducer arranged for reducing the backflow of the second fluid from the first configuration to the second configuration when the second fluid is switched to be provided in the first configuration.

摘要: A maskless lithography system is described having a programmable mask to allow performing several lithographic steps using the same mask. In every lithographic step, the corresponding pattern is obtained by providing a digital pattern to the programmable mask. The programmable mask includes an array of pixels which are based on the electro-wetting principle. According to this principle, every pixel has a transparent reservoir containing a first, non-polar, non-transparent fluid and a second, polar, transparent fluid which are immiscible. Applying a field to the reservoir allows to displace the fluids with respect to each other. This allows to make the pixel either transparent or non-transparent. This lithographic programmable mask allows high resolution and fast setting and refreshing. A corresponding method for performing maskless optical lithography also is described.

摘要: An electrowetting module (20) comprises a fluid chamber (8) which contains a first fluid (A) and a second fluid (B), which are separated by an interface (14), and means to (16, 17) exert a force on at least one of the fluids to change the position and/or shape of the interface. By providing at least one of the fluids with a compound having a zero dipole moment in the gaseous phase, the performance of the module can be enhanced. For example the optical power of an electrowetting lens (30) can be increased.

摘要: The automatic candle snuffer is a mechanical timer driven device that extinguishes a candle in a jar after a user selectable time interval. A clamp mounts the candle snuffer to the mouth of the jar. The snuffing mechanism is a spring driven gear housing shaped to cover the mouth of the jar in the closed position, but which rotates around a stationary pin to uncover the jar. The gear housing contains a spring-driven timer, which drives a plurality of gears. Rotating the upper portion of the gear housing relative to the lower portion winds a timing spring, while rotating the entire housing around the pivot pin uncovers the mouth of the jar and winds a return spring. When the timer spring is unwound, a release mechanism frees the gear housing allowing the return spring to rotate the gear housing until the mouth of the jar is covered.
