摘要： A hybrid cable assembly includes a hybrid cable, tether tubes, and an overmold. The hybrid cable includes both electrical-conductor and fiber-optic elements. The tethers receive a subset of the elements from the hybrid cable at a transition location in the form of a chamber, and the overmold surrounds the transition location. The overmold is elongate, flexible, and has a low profile configured to pass through narrow ducts.

摘要： A surge protection apparatus for a power cable assembly is disclosed. The surge protection apparatus is located in-line with the power cable and may be integrated into or be a separate component from the power cable assembly and provide surge protection without the need to locate a surge protection device in a terminal. In this way, the terminal remains small and lightweight while the surge protection can be provided as needed. The apparatus may be used for power-only assemblies as well as hybrid power/fiber assemblies.

摘要： Ferrule assemblies and fiber optic connectors that are easily transformable from a female configuration to a male configuration or vice-versa by the craft are disclosed. The ferrule assemblies and/or fiber optic connectors are used with a guide pin keeper that is easily and quickly installed or removed from the ferrule assembly/connector during manufacturing or post-manufacturing process by the craft. The guide pin keeper is installable and/or removable from the ferrule assembly in a direction generally perpendicular to the longitudinal axis of the ferrule assembly without having to disassemble the ferrule boot from the ferrule. Moreover, the guide pin keeper allows installation of the guide pins from the front side of the ferrule. Thus, the guide pin keeper and/or guide pins can easily and quickly be installed or removed during the manufacturing process or in the field by the craft for transforming the ferrule assembly or connector.

摘要： A fiber optic dust cap assembly for protecting fiber optic components is provided. The protected fiber optic components may include fiber optic adapters and fiber optic connectors. The fiber optic dust cap assembly includes a plurality of dust caps each coupled to a lanyard. Each of the plurality of dust caps is configured for insertion into a fiber optic component. The lanyard is configured to facilitate management of the dust caps. The lanyard is also configured to facilitate removal of the dust caps from the fiber optic components. Each of the dust caps among the plurality of dust caps may be removed by pulling on the lanyard. The lanyard may also facilitate removal of each of the plurality of dust caps in one pulling action. Additionally, by the plurality of dust caps being connected to the lanyard, the plurality of dust caps coupled to the lanyard remain together after removal.
