摘要: An apparatus includes a strength member including a core formed of a composite material, and having a first glass transition or melting temperature. An encapsulation layer is disposed around the core. An optical fiber assembly is disposed in the core and includes a fiber core and a fiber encapsulation layer disposed therearound that has a second glass transition or melting temperature that is greater than the first glass transition or melting temperature. A conductor layer is disposed around the strength member. A coupler may be coupled to an axial end of the apparatus. The coupler may define an aperture through a wall thereof and a portion of the optical fiber assembly is routed therethrough. A system may include a control unit configured to receive a sensing signal from the fiber assembly and transmit the signal or determine a value of the operating parameter and transmit the value to the receiver.

摘要: A hybrid optical power distribution box comprises a wall and one or more apertures in the wall, each aperture having a receiving area, one or more optical adapters for optical connectors, the optical adapters being attached to the hybrid optical power distribution box, each optical adapter extending along an optical direction between a first optical portion configured to be connected to an optical connector and a second optical portion inside the hybrid optical power distribution box, each second optical portion having an optical cross-sectional area configured to be inserted inside an aperture; one or more power adapters for electrical power connectors, the power adapters being attached to the hybrid optical power distribution box, each power adapter extending along a power direction between a first power portion configured to be connected to a power connector and a second power portion inside the hybrid optical power distribution box, each second power portion having a power cross-sectional area configured to be inserted inside an aperture. The optical cross-sectional area of the optical adapters matches with the power cross-sectional area of the power adapters and the receiving area of the apertures is configured to match with the optical cross-sectional area of the optical adapters and with the power cross-sectional area of the power adapters.

摘要: A cable includes a longitudinal structural element including at least one of an electrical conductor and an optical conductor, and a strain sensor arranged within a bending neutral region of the cable and mechanically coupled with the longitudinal structural element. The strain sensor includes an optical fiber coated with at least one coating layer, a release layer surrounding the coating layer, and a protective layer surrounding the release layer. The release layer includes a material selected from a silicone polymer, a fluoropolymer mixture or an extruded polymer containing a slip agent.

摘要: A high-power low-resistance electromechanical cable constructed of a conductor core comprising a plurality of conductors surrounded by an outer insulating jacket. Each conductor has a center conductor element surrounded by a plurality of copper wires, wherein the plurality of copper wires is compacted to have a non-circular cross-section. The center conducting element may be one of a fiber optic strand, a copper wire having an indented outer surface, or a twisted conductor pair. Each conductor also includes a conductor insulating jacket encapsulating the plurality of copper wires and center conducting element. A first armoring layer of a plurality of strength members is wrapped around the outer insulating jacket. A second armoring layer of a plurality of strength members may also be wrapped around the first layer. A polymer jacket layer may encapsulate the first and/or second armoring layers of strength members.

摘要: A high-power low-resistance electromechanical cable constructed of a conductor core comprising a plurality of conductors surrounded by an outer insulating jacket and with each conductor having a plurality of wires that are surrounded by an insulating jacket. The wires can be copper or other conductive wires. The insulating jacket surrounding each set of wires or each conductor can be comprised of ethylene tetrafluoroethylene, polytetrafluoroethylene, polytetrafluoroethylene tape, perfluoroalkoxyalkane, fluorinated ethylene propylene or a combination of materials. A first layer of a plurality of strength members is wrapped around the outer insulating jacket. A second layer of a plurality of strength members may be wrapped around the first layer of a plurality of strength members. The first and/or second layer of strength members can be made of single wires, synthetic fiber strands multi-wire strands, or rope. If either or both layers are made up of synthetic fiber, then the synthetic fibers may be surrounding and encapsulated by an additional insulating and protective layer.

摘要: A composite cable having, on the inside of a sheath, a tube and a plurality of cables. When said composite cable is suspended in a hoop shape with the entire composite cable as a cable to be tested, if the maximum value for the inner diameter of said hoop is measured as D1 and the inner diameter of the hoop at a position 100 mm from the top edge of the hoop when the hoop is subjected to a load of 1 kg is measured as D2, the condition D1−D2>70 mm is satisfied. The tube partially or entirely includes a layer made from porous polytetrafluoroethylene, and if the outer diameter and the inner diameter of the layer of the tube are respectively defined as (D) and (d), the condition (D−d)/D falls within the range of 0.27 to 0.75.
