摘要:
The subject matter disclosed herein relates to determining whether a reported position of a wireless transmitter is sufficiently accurate in accordance with an accuracy metric based at least in part on a calculated range between an estimated position of a mobile station and the reported position and also based at least in part on one or more measurements taken from one or more signals transmitted by the wireless transmitter.
摘要:
Disclosed are methods, techniques and/or systems for selecting and/or determining a strategy and/or approach for searching for signals at a mobile device. Characteristics of and/or information obtained from such searched signals may be used in estimating a location of the mobile device. In one particular example, a strategy and/or approach for searching for wireless signals may be based, at least in part, on an availability of resources at a mobile device.

The subject matter disclosed herein relates to a system and method for estimating a location of a mobile station based, at least in part, on one or more measurements obtained from the mobile station based at least in part on one or more signals received by the mobile station from one or more signal sources. Such measurements may be combined based, at least in part, on estimates of measurement errors associated with the signal sources. In a particular implementation, such error estimates may be updated to account for changes in an operational environment.

A method according to an embodiment obtains a list of peaks for each of a number of frequency hypotheses. Each peak has an energy result and corresponds to a code phase hypothesis. Embodiments include methods and apparatus that may be used in identifying a location of a signal (such as a GPS signal) in a two-dimensional search space. Location information may be further applied to operations such as signal acquisition, signal tracking, position location of a receiver, and timing operations such as the synchronization of one or more other processes.

Methods and apparatuses are provided which may be enabled within and/or for use with a Satellite Positioning System (SPS) receiver and/or other like apparatuses or device(s) to demodulate a first channel portion of a multiple channel SPS signal based, at least in part, on a second channel portion of the multiple channel SPS signal.

Methods and apparatus are directed to mobile devices utilizing motion and/or position sensors for improving operating performance and/or power efficiency. In one example, a method for reducing power consumption in a mobile device includes receiving movement information, establishing movement data based on the movement information, determining if the mobile device is stationary using the movement data; and reducing the frequency of searching for a base station when the mobile device is stationary. In another example, a mobile device which reduces power consumption based upon movement data includes an RF front end, a receiver coupled to the RF front end, a data demodulator coupled to the receiver, a searcher, coupled to the RF front end and the receiver, which searches for base stations, and a processing unit coupled to the searcher, wherein the processing unit controls the searcher based upon the stationarity of the mobile device.
