摘要: An ultrasound information processing system is disclosed in which ultrasound image data is packetized into ultrasound information packets and routed to one or more of a plurality of processors for performing image processing operations on the ultrasound image data, the ultrasound information packets being routed according to entries in a host-programmable routing table. A common distribution bus is coupled between packetizing circuitry and dedicated input buffers corresponding to each processor for distributing the ultrasound information packets, and a common output bus to is used to transfer processed image data from the processors to an output device. The disclosed ultrasound information processing system architecture allows for a high throughput rate for accommodating real-time image processing operations, while also allowing for ready programmability and upgradability. Advantageously, the disclosed ultrasound information processing system may be readily upgraded by coupling additional processors to the common distribution bus and the common output bus and by reprogramming the routing table to include the additional processors as destinations for the ultrasound information packets. The disclosed ultrasound information processing system architecture also provides for added field reliability by providing for an optional spare processor coupled to the common distribution bus and the common output bus, wherein upon detection of a failure of one of the existing processors, the optional spare processor may be loaded with a copy of a program being run by the failing processor and the routing table may by automatically modified to redirect ultrasound data packets from the failing processor to the spare processor.

摘要: Embodiments of the present invention provide a lens mounting apparatus for mounting a lens to a substrate having a sensor in a sensor housing mounted on the substrate. The apparatus comprises a lens mount member including a lens mount body coupled with the lens housing. The lens mount body includes a locating element configured to register the lens mount body to the sensor housing mounted on the substrate. The lens mount member includes a flexible mounting element configured to be attached to the substrate and permit movement of the lens mount body toward and away from the sensor housing. A focus ring includes a slip ring portion coupled with the coupling surface of the lens housing. The slip ring portion includes a plurality of teeth disposed on a flexible slip ring support and engaged with the grooves of the coupling surface to turn the lens housing to adjust the position of the lens in an axial direction relative to the lens mount member, between a fully extended position where the lens is farthest from the lens mount member and a fully retracted position where the lens is closest to the lens mount member. The flexible slip ring support permits the teeth to slip out of and ratchet with the grooves of the coupling surface when the focus ring is rotated in a direction to move the lens toward the lens mount member after the lens has reached the fully retracted position. The focus ring is movable in the axial direction relative to the lens mount member with the teeth of the slip ring portion of the focus ring engaged with the grooves of the coupling surface of the lens housing.

摘要: The present invention provides a combination of first providing a coarse adjustment by varying the emitter power and duration of the emitter/detector exposure time, and then providing a fine adjustment by storing a correction value for each photodetector element. The adjustment for each photodetector corrects not only for the range, but also for the offset, providing two correction values. In a preferred embodiment, the low and high voltage reference levels for an analog to digital converter are adjusted and stored for each photodetector for each color.

摘要: The present invention is an apparatus and method of manufacture for providing image capturing modules which can be embedded into thin displays (e.g., in laptop computers) while providing for improved image quality. In accordance with several embodiments, a webcam module embedded in a display has multiple positions. A first position (or a “rest” or “park” position) is the position of the webcam module when it is not in use. In this first position of the webcam module, it is in its most compact configuration, and lends itself to integration into a very thin display. In other positions, the webcam module has a more expanded configuration, thus leading to better image quality. Such an expanded configuration leads, amongst other things, to a larger depth of focus. In one embodiment, a stepped PCB is used to provide good image quality while maintaining a compact form factor as well as structural rigidity.

摘要: A system and a method for the transfer of data between a digital camera and a host using a novel combination of hardware and software related elements. An aspect of the hardware-related elements provides a camera base unit which remains connected with the host, and which the camera is connected with to facilitate the transfer of data to the host. The camera base unit significantly simplifies the connection between the camera and the host by alleviating the need to directly connect the camera with a host. Furthermore, the camera base unit, by providing a pass-through connection and placement guides that mate with the camera, assures that an intuitive placement of the camera on the camera base unit also enables an electronic connection between the camera and the host. Therefore, the simple placement of the camera in contact with the camera base unit ensures a proper interface between the camera and the host, which is connected with the camera base unit. Another aspect of the hardware-based elements is directed towards a “quick send” button. Pushing the “quick send” button causes all the selected on-camera data to be transferred to a local or remote host. The transfer of data is caused by a series of software operations which are initiated in response to the camera connecting with the camera base unit, and which are performed either automatically or following the pushing of the “quick send” button.

摘要: A simple, versatile support device supports a camera on different surfaces in various dispositions. In one embodiment, a device comprises a front support member including a left end and a right end. The front support member includes an upper surface having a camera support location between the left end and the right end on which to support a camera, and includes a lower inwardly arched surface and a bottom support surface below the lower inwardly arched surface. The front support member is configured to either rest the bottom support surface on a generally horizontal surface of an object on which to place the camera supporting device or to engage the lower inwardly arched surface with a vertical front surface and a horizontal top surface forming an edge of an object on which to place the camera supporting device. A left flexible leg is coupled between the left end of the front support member and a tail end. A right flexible leg is coupled between the right end of the front support member and the tail end. The left and right flexible legs are deformable to adjust a position of the tail end to mount the camera supporting device on the object by gravity without clamping to the object.
