Fiber optic drawers supporting fiber optic modules are disclosed. The drawer is movable about a chassis. At least one fiber optic equipment tray is received in the drawer. The fiber optic equipment tray(s) is movable about the drawer and configured to receive at least one fiber optic module. The fiber optic module(s) is movable about a fiber optic equipment tray. In this manner, enhanced access can be provided to the fiber optic module(s) and their fiber optic connections. The drawer can moved out from the chassis to provide access to fiber optic equipment tray(s) and fiber optic module(s). The fiber optic equipment tray(s) can be moved out from the drawer to provide enhanced access to fiber optic module(s). The fiber optic module(s) can be moved from fiber optic equipment tray(s) to provide further enhanced access to fiber optic module(s). The drawer may also be tiltable about the chassis.

A high density fiber optic distribution frame includes a frame assembly, one or more left-hand connector module housings mounted on the frame assembly, one or more right-hand connector module housings mounted on the frame assembly and an Interbay Storage Unit (IBU) positioned on the frame assembly medially between the left-hand connector module housings and the right-hand connector module housings. Each connector module housing includes one or more connector modules having one or more adapters for interconnecting optical fibers between connector modules on the distribution frame or on an adjacent distribution frame in a communications network. The distribution frame is compatible with existing fiber optic connector housings, maintains the minimum bend radius of the optical fibers transitioned on the frame between connector modules, and reduces the length of a single length jumper employed on the frame. An alternative embodiment includes an Interbay Fiber Manager (IFM) for routing and storing additional jumpers.

A corner wall-mount fiber optic connector housing includes an enclosure having a back plate for mounting in a corner between two walls. The enclosure is provided with at least one provider port for entry of a fiber optic provider cable having a plurality of optical fibers and at least two customer ports for entry of a fiber optic customer cable having a plurality of optical fibers. At least two fiber optic connector panel mounts located within the enclosure have an aperture for receiving a plurality of connectors to optically interconnect the fibers of the provider cable with the fibers of the customer cable. The back plate is formed in two planes at an angle to each other for mounting in the corner, and one of the customer ports and one of the connector panel mounts is positioned adjacent a respective one of the two planes of the back plate.

A mixed media outlet is provided that is capable of being mounted upon a wall and that includes ports that are typically designed to provide separate access to an electrical network and to an optical network. The wall mounted outlet can therefore permit a telephone to be connected to the electrical network, and a computer to be connected to the optical network. Alternatively, the outlet can permit a telephone to also be connected to either the same or a different optical network than the computer. The mixed media outlet includes a housing adapted to be wall mounted and first and second ports that are disposed within openings defined by the housing, such as a data port and a voice port. The mixed media outlet also includes an electro-optic converter connected to the first port for converting between electrical and optical signals such that electrical signals presented at the first port are converted to corresponding optical signals for transmission to an optical network and optical signals delivered by an optical fiber are converted to electrical signals for transmission via the first port to a computer, for example. The mixed media outlet can also include a fiber port for optically interfacing the optical fiber and the electro-optic converter in order to permit optical communication therebetween. While the fiber port can be in the same plane as the data and voice ports, the fiber port can lie in a different plane in some embodiments. Further, the mixed media outlet can include a protective subhousing covering at least the electro-optic converter for protecting the electro-optic converter from electromagnetic interference.

A strain relief bracket for use in conventional and modular furniture applications guards against excessive bending of copper and fiber optic cable. The device is a substantially rigid durable bracket that has an adhesive surface for adhesion to the interior of a furniture wall. The device is bi-planar, having a first section in a first plane, a raised flange section in a second plane, and a second section connecting the first section and raised flange section. A flange at the end of the first section secures the bracket to the edge of an opening in the furniture wall. Cables are secured to the bracket by cable ties that extend through holes provided on the raised flange section. The bi-planar arrangement of the bracket minimizes the bend radius of the cables and thereby strain relieves the cable, adapters, and connectors in the wall.

A cable routing guide attached to a fiber optic apparatus, such as a module positioned on a fiber optic equipment tray is disclosed. The cable routing guide is adapted to receive a length of at least one fiber optic cable intended to be connected to a cable connection point, such as a fiber optic adapter disposed on the module. The cable routing guide allows the at least one fiber optic cable to move in response to the fiber optic equipment tray or the module moving between a first position and a second position in a manner such that the length of the at least one fiber optic cable from the cable routing guide to the fiber optic adapter remains substantially unchanged. Moreover, the at least one fiber optic cable that is received by the cable routing guide may be retained and maintained by the cable routing guide without being tensed or stressed. In this manner, the at least one fiber optic cable that is routed to and through the fiber optic apparatus may not be affected by the movement of the module frame, the module, and/or the adapter between the first and second positions.
