摘要: A system and method of facilitating a transfer of a refund amount from an educational institution to a student. A refund controller receives from an educational institution a request for authorization of an instant paper check of a payment amount equal to at least a portion of a total refund amount associated with the student of the educational institution student. The refund controller verifies the payment amount is equal to or less than an amount of funds available to the student and transfers funds equal to the payment amount to an instant issuance account. The refund controller authorizes the educational institution to issue an instant paper check for the payment amount to the student. The instant paper check draws from the instant issuance account.

摘要: A method of monitoring the properties of a biological or chemical sample. The method comprises: a) carrying out a plurality of different tests on the sample to generate corresponding test data, b) optionally carrying out a preliminary processing of the test data to generate partially processed data, c) storing the test data and/or partially processed data; d) causing a processing system to analyse a user-defined selection of the test data or partially processed data to generate result data relating to one or more properties of the sample; and e) subsequent to step (d), receiving a second user-defined selection of the test data or partially processed data, different from the first selection, and causing the processing system to analyse the second user-defined selection of the test data or partially processed data to generate second result data relating to one or more properties of the sample different from the properties corresponding to the first user-defined selection

摘要: Tubular baseball bats comprised of an elongated handle portion and a striking or barrel portion wherein the barrel portion has variable stiffness along its length. One such bat has a circumferential low cost, low weight stiffener generally located in the sweetspot area designed to increase radial stiffness in a controlled manner which results in decreasing the bat performance to meet a changed bat performance standard and can be applied at low cost to both used field returned bats and bats being newly manufactured. Further, new tubular polymer composite bats can be designed with increased radial stiffness generally located in the sweetspot area or with radial stiffness graduated from highest, generally in the sweetspot area, to lowest at the barrel ends. All bats of the present invention result in calculated bat performance to meet applicable regulatory standards while also increasing the sweetspot size.

摘要: A tubular baseball bat comprising a substantially full length core shaft of preferably constant cross-section, including a handle portion, and a barrel with a gap or separation between the core shaft and barrel, the core shaft and barrel being connected at two or more locations. Embodiments include bats with long barrels without taper sections, bats with taper sections integral with the barrels, bats with separate taper sections which may be of non-circular cross-section, bats with flexible circumferential connecting structures, bats with folded barrel end portions, and bats with resilient means between the core shaft and barrel. Such bats can have larger hitting areas, larger sweetspots, higher performance, and provide minimal sting to a player's hands.
