摘要: A printing system capable of binding a modified image data to an individual print engine in a multiple print engine system. The system includes an image processor such as a digital front end, a set of transformations, and a configuration of printers. The system can also include a scanner that scans a test image so that this image binding process can be repeated. Furthermore, the transformation binding can also take place in real time.

摘要: A multi-mode color copier having a photoreceptor for storing color separated images. The color copier includes a platen input for transmitting color images from an original to the photoreceptor, a raster output scanner for writing on the photoreceptor and a raster input scanner for reading developed color separated images from the photoreceptor. The input to the raster output scanner and the output from the raster input scanner are in the form of digitized video signals which correspond to the color separated images. In addition to outputting video signals through the raster input scanner the copier can create color copies by sequentially transferring developed images from the photoreceptor to a copy sheet and fusing those images to form a permanent color copy.

摘要: This disclosure provides printing methods, systems and apparatus to compensate for distortions by fusing toner applied to a media substrate. According to one exemplary method, image data is processed according to media characterization data for a toner density value associated with the image. The processed image data compensates for media substrate distortions due to fusing of a printed image on the media substrate.

摘要: An imaging apparatus includes an input that receives a stream of image pixels such as high addressable bits, multiple bits per pixel or binary image bits representing an input image and a processor that processes and directs signals to an LED bar that selectively exposes areas of a photoreceptor. The exposed areas of the photoreceptor form a latent image, controlled by the processor, of areas of varied exposure based on surrounding pixels. The processor examines the pixels to determine an image structure beneficially adaptable to varied exposure and selects a pixel for varied exposure, such as increased or decreased exposure or altered timing to apply the pixel.

摘要: A method to compact a diffuse gray edge that is two pixels wide to a state where it is one pixel wide so that it may be well rendered with anti-alias rendering. The method identifies an observation window within continuous tone image data. The method then operates on the pixels within the observation window by: compacting horizontal features within the observation window; compacting vertical features within the observation window; and compacting corner features within the observation window.

摘要: A printing device is requested to generate a calibration test print. The printer generates a plurality of color patches and identification data which are put in hard copy form by a marker. The identification data includes data such as device identifiers, calibration print identifiers, and calibration statistics for the printing device. The hard copy calibration print is scanned and is transmitted to a calibration server. The calibration server interprets the coded data and determines the originating device, the calibration pattern printed, and an optimal color pattern based on the identification data. The color pattern printed is then compared to the optimal color pattern and their differences are determined. A color correction table is generated based on the differences and transmitted to the network address of the originating printer based on the identification data. The identification data provides for automatic recalibration of printing devices on a network.

摘要: A method and apparatus for identifying regions within a first binary image where half-bitting may be present, converting those regions to a multiple-bit/pixel representation so as to accurately represent the image density and the intended edge structure for the region, and further generating an enhanced resolution representation of the region in either a second binary image, wherein the second binary image has a spatial resolution greater than the first image, or a multiple-bit per pixel (gray) image at the same resolution as the input image so as to enable an improved rendering of the first binary image.
