    摘要: Systems and methods for lesson-based virtual reality (VR) welding training are provided. Broadly, the system creates a configurable, three-dimensional, virtual reality training environment displayed on a VR display. Using a handheld controller associated with the VR display, a student may select a welding lesson. The welding lessons correspond to a variety of different settings, such as welding process type, workpiece type, workpiece position, finishing tool type, guidance mode, and welding machine settings. The student then creates a weld on the workpiece via the handheld controller, and the system provides real-time feedback, such as audio, visual, and/or haptic, to the student. Once the student has completed the weld, the system generates and displays an assessment of the weld.

    摘要: The invention provides compositions and methods for treating pancreatic enzyme insufficiency, such as the pancreatic enzyme insufficiency associated with cystic fibrosis. The invention also provides compositions comprising lipase from Candida cylindracea, alone or in combination with amylase or amyloglucosidase, protease and/or lactase. Furthermore, the invention discloses methods for treating pancreatic enzyme insufficiency comprising administering compositions to patients in need thereof.

    摘要: An apparatus includes a knife and a cupped structure. The cupped structure has a top edge and the knife is rotatably coupled with the cupped structure. The knife is positioned mostly within the cupped structure and mostly below the top edge. The top edge is configured for use with a blender, such that when the cupped structure is mated with the blender, food contents can be cut by the knife. A portable source of power is mate-able with the apparatus to rotate the knife.

    摘要: A highly specific and easily purified form of hyaluronidase is described for use in ophthalmic treatments. The enzyme, from Streptomyces hyalurolyticus is specific for hyaluronidase and carries out an elimination reaction that results in the production of double bonds at the nonreducing end of hyaluronic acid. Hyaluronidase from Streptomyces hyalurolyticus has a higher activity than comparable enzymes from other species. The enzyme is now capable of being purified in what is essentially a protease-free form making it applicable to medical treatments. The use of this source of hyaluronidase in ophthalmic treatments is now made possible by its high activity, specificity for hyaluronidase and purity.
