摘要: An object is to provide a light-emitting module in which a light-emitting element suffering a short-circuit failure does not cause wasteful electric power consumption. Another object is to provide a light-emitting panel in which a light-emitting element suffering a short-circuit failure does not allow the reliability of an adjacent light-emitting element to lower. Focusing on heat generated by a light-emitting element suffering a short-circuit failure, provided is a structure in which electric power is supplied to a light-emitting element through a positive temperature coefficient thermistor (PTC thermistor) thermally coupled with the light-emitting element.

摘要: To provide a light-emitting element or a light-emitting device in which power is not consumed wastefully even if a short-circuit failure occurs. The present invention focuses on heat generated due to a short-circuit failure which occurs in a light-emitting element. A fusible alloy which is melted at temperature T2 by heat generated due to the short-circuit failure when the short-circuit failure occurs is used for at least one of a pair of electrodes in a light-emitting element, and a layer containing an organic composition which is melted at temperature T1 is formed on a surface of the electrode opposite to a surface facing the other electrode. The present inventors have reached a structure in which the temperature T2 is lower than temperature T3 at which the light-emitting element is damaged and the temperature T1 is lower than the temperature T2, and this structure can achieve the objects.

摘要: The lighting device includes a substrate, a light-emitting element formed over one of surfaces of the substrate, and a rear surface metal layer formed on another surface of the substrate, which is opposite to the surface over which the light-emitting element is formed. The light-emitting element has a structure in which an organic compound layer containing a light-emitting substance is provided between a pair of electrodes. The substrate has a layered structure of an organic insulating layer and a metal layer including at least one internal metal layer. The internal metal layer is thermally bonded to the rear surface metal layer through a via hole formed in the organic insulating layer. The resistance of the via hole is lower than that in the case of thermal bonding not through the via hole.

摘要: A highly reliable lighting device is provided at low cost by using a simple structure and a simple process. A lighting device with improved convenience, which has a shape suitable for a purpose and can respond to diversified applications is provided. A light-emitting panel which includes a light-emitting element provided over a flexible substrate and including an electroluminescent (EL) layer (the panel is also referred to as an “EL film”) is put in a glass housing. The EL film is flexible and thus can be provided in a variety of forms in accordance with the shape of the glass housing.
