摘要： A head protecting airbag is folded up to be housed at an upper part of a window of a vehicle so as to be deployed and inflated downward from the upper part of the window so as to cover an interior side of the window. In the airbag, a plurality of parallel cells adapted to be deployed and inflated by an inflating gas introduced thereinto are provided in parallel with each other below 10 a gas supply passage portion in which the inflating gas flows along a longitudinal direction. In a cell of the parallel cells so provided which is required to deploy quickly, of front and rear partitioning portions, a partitioning portion situated at an upstream side of the gas flowing in the gas supply passage portion is provided such that an end thereof which extends upward from a lower edge portion is disposed so as to form an inlet port between a distal end of a horizontal portion of a downstream side partitioning portion and itself.

摘要： A head protecting airbag includes a bag body and an inner tube. The inner tube is provided within the bag body so as to be separated with respect to an inner peripheral surface of an inflation main part of the bag body so as provide a protecting area directly therebelow and is supported by a support cloth which is joined to an internal side of the inflation main part around an outer periphery thereof. The support cloth is provided integrally with the inflation main part as a substantially tubular shape which has a shorter longitudinal length than that of the inner tube and which can wrap up the inner tube, when outer peripheral parts of interior and exterior wall portions which are located on an upper edge of the inflation main part above the inner tube are joined to each other.

摘要： In the head-protecting airbag device according to the present invention, an airbag folded and housed in the upper edge of an opening inside the vehicle deploys downward to cover the opening. The airbag includes a plurality of cells juxtaposed in the front-rear direction each of which, when fed with inflation gas, extends downward from the upper edge of the opening and inflates to separate its interior and exterior walls. Above the cells is located a gas passage extending in the front-rear direction, via which the cells are communicated with one another. The gas passage includes a joint port for introducing inflation gas into the airbag. In each of the cells, the interior wall and exterior wall are respectively bellows-folded on alternate crest folds projecting in the surface and valley folds recessing inside the cell, such that the airbag is folded to bring its lower edge close to its upper edge. The head-protecting airbag device is able to deploy the airbag swiftly.

The mounting portion also includes an outer edge portion which is disposed on an outer circumferential side of the adjacent marginal portion and has two cloth pieces formed of the adjacent marginal portion by being separated into an interior-side part and an exterior-side part which are then woven.

The apparatus raises a seat face of the vehicle seat, thereby restraining an object on the seat face to prevent the object from moving forward. The apparatus includes an airbag, an inflation fluid generator, and a contact preventing member. The airbag is arranged between the support portion and the cushion. The inflation fluid generator supplies inflation fluid for inflating the airbag, thereby raising the seat face. The contact preventing member is arranged between the support portion and the airbag. A part of the contact preventing member that is in the vicinity of the support portion is flexible. The contact preventing member prevents the airbag from contacting the support portion when the airbag is inflated.

The airbag internally includes a tether joined to the vehicle's inner side wall and the vehicle's outer side wall for regulating the clearance between the inner side wall and the outer side wall as the airbag is completely inflated. The tether is disposed along the front-rear direction of the vehicle. A joint portion of the tether to the vehicle's inner side wall is located at lower level than a joint portion of the tether to the vehicle's outer side wall as viewed in a vertical section taken along the vehicle's transverse direction. The head-protecting airbag of the present invention is able to expand along the windows.
